BunnyB - 2007-12-09 3:28 PM Here are my totals for week 1. Good lord, I'm slow! I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm still a beginner at all of this so as not to get discouraged.
December's totals:
Run:1h 45m 31s - 7 Mi
Swim:1h 37m - 1211.58 M

Thanks for the PM's and inspires the past few days, too. I really appreciate it!!

you are just swimming at your own pace - remember some of us have been at this for quite a while!

great job Melissa (I know purple isn't your favorite color )

I'm in for 1 hour this week; bringing up the rear as the slacker on this team. I have a few more workouts scheduled for this 2nd recovery week so I may be able to double my swim time.

nope, not a slacker!  no such talk allowed

you were on a recovery from a big event!!!

reindeers are not slackers, we just follow a plan that gets us to our goal by the end of the month!

Helllloooooo!!!

Any reindeers out there??? Nope - well, I can only assume that you are all out there swimming! LOL

JK - enjoy those well earned rest days and other activities, swim if it's in your plan.

Please make sure to have your log updated today so I can post the results in the final spreadsheet.

If you want to post them in the thread, that would be great!  It will really help bump us up motivate everyone on the team to see how each other is doing!

Ehh...only at 2000 yds out of 13,000...

Have a swim planned for Tuesday and Thursday which should get me up to 6,000 by the end of the week...

Good morning, Reindeer. Did everyone have a swimmingly good weekend? (Hardy har har) I've got 2000 yards on tap for after my shift today. I'm planning on swimming four times this week. Need to take a big bite out of my yardage this week before the kiddos are out for Christmas break.

i was watching this with a puzzled/stunned look on my face.  the boss (the wife/the elf) saw this and started to come into the computer room to see what i was watching.  i closed it before she saw and said, "it's better if you don't see it."  "oh, thank God." she replied.

I have 2500 on tap today - good thing I took yesterday off

Question for you - when the workout says

300 swim at T-pace, 100 drill, so 400 total

What is one supposed to do for the 100 drill?

thanks!

ha!  no, they were hersey bars.  we also had run gloves (which went like crazy!)  each one had a coupon for $2 off the next race of the directors and there were 20 gc and 3 pairs of shoes at a local running store.  this race is so much fun.

a group of college students dressed up as reindeer.

i ran behind them for most of the race.  i'll tell you why i had to stop in the rr.

I would mix it up and do 4x25 drills swam as a 100. Unless you have a nagging issue in your stroke. Then you could concentrate on a drill to correct that during the entire 100. My favorite drills are catch-up and head tap. I tend to be a little late getting my arm out of the water while I'm breathing and the head tap stops this. It also works on high elbow recovery. That 100 might be a nice opportunity to work some single-arm drills, 2 lengths per arm. The possibilities are endless
