Well, you do have a signed Macca note saying see you in Kona......Gotta be worth +2mph on the bike and -30 seconds per mile on the run. |

Member 319 Seattle, WA | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I like that, 3Aims. I should sit down sometime this week and do that as well. My name is Sarah by the way, and I'm hoping to break 13 hours. We shall see I'm a nerd and "liked" Ironman on Facebook, and noticed this post on their wall: Sign your kids up for the Regence Kids Fun Run at Ford Ironman CDA on Thursday June 23 at 6pm. Registration will be open from 1-5:30pm in the Ironman Village. All participants will receive a medal and shirt. |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread 3Aims - 2011-06-20 2:30 PM - Will all of this allow me to put together a solid 2.4, 112, and 26.2 in one day? We will soon find out. THe answer is YES and only YES, if you PACE correctly. IMO, assuming everything is dialed in, proper pacing is the key to unlock all IM dreams. Period. |

Member 319 Seattle, WA | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Oh yes, one last thing: I did a mini-tri yesterday to test my transitions and keep the muscles loose. It went alright, with some aches and pains on the run (blast!). I did notice, however, several new holes in my wetsuit near the armpits. One is quarter-sized next to another hole that I had patched previously, and the others are 3 tiny holes next to one another on the other arm. Should I be concerned? I have some glue to fix neoprene, but it's a bit disturbing that 4 new holes appeared since Friday. I can take a picture of them when I get home if anyone has any advice on patching vs. buying a new suit. Obviously buying new is not desirable, but can be done if necessary. |

I bring Aquaseal with me for every race. My Vendetta is so fragile, I get a small nick each time I wear it. I would seal it and bring some glue with you just in case it reopens. Champion 5345 Carlsbad, California | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread 3Aims - 2011-06-20 12:30 PM Anyone total up their training log yet? Someone told me to spend an hour or so totaling my 30 week plan and study the work I've put into this race. It's freaking mind blowing. I did the 30 week Ironfit Competitive Plan with some tweaks here and there. Swim: 160,681 Meters, 49h 1m 40s Bike: 2,135.1 Miles, 114h, 1m, 18s Run: 1,499.4 Miles, 194h, 4m, 46s Spin Class: 40h Total: 397h 06m 04s I am in week 25 of a custom 26 week plan written by a coach based on Pfitz 18/70+ Marathon Plan. 100% of my bike miles logged were actual road miles (No trainer time) and I did log spin class separately. (I found spin class to be a huge benefit) Most all of my run mileage were on the road with about 20% on the treadmill. I did my all of my speedwork on the track or on the treadmill. About 25% of my swim meters were in the ocean with about 10,000 meters of that without a wetsuit in cold water. I did 3 tuneup races. Ironman California 70.3 in the beginning of April, The Orange County Marathon in the beginning of May, and the San Diego Century in the middle of May. Interim Results: By every measure this training cycle has already been a huge success. I re-qualified for Pre-registration @ Boston 2012 at OCM. I ran a PB time at IMCal even though I ran it @ full IM Pace. I am in the best shape of my life again, and best of all, I really enjoyed the last 25 weeks. I have a bunch of goals for both my 2011 Triathlon Season and my upcoming Fall/Winter marathon season and many of them seem to be within reach. That being said, I am in this for the long haul and willing to work at it for as long as it takes. Endurance Sports is after all, an exercise in delayed gratification. However things net out on race day next Sunday, I am already satisfied. Edited by WaterDog66 2011-06-20 3:21 PM |

We will soon find out. All of us have put in some really insane amounts of training and managed for the most part of survive the experience. Seems to me that whatever happens next Sunday, you won't be saying "I went into this race undertrained" in your race report Edited by WaterDog66 2011-06-20 3:26 PM |

Champion 5345 Carlsbad, California | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Thanks Travis for putting the tracking spreadsheet together. I don't have a time goal for next Sunday. My plan is to run my race like a dog with a bone in his teeth, strong and steady; but boldly. Strong Finish is the term I think we have used in the past. Finishing in the Daylight would be awesome. |

Member 78 Salt Lake City, UT | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I have no time goals to share with anyone but myself. My personal goal is to run the entire marathon (I'll allow myself a few steps through aid stations). My mantra will be "run this f*cker!". I'm writing it on my arm. I will let this goal guide the rest of my pacing. I really had a good day out there last year. Not an impressive time, but a really good day where I soaked everything in, smiled often, and expressed gratitude for the other athletes, volunteers, and the experience whenever I felt it. I hope I have a similar day this year, but so much can happen. I'll just try to control what I can and get to the finish line. |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Waterdog has really laid down the big numbers and I love it. I hope all of you get the times you are shooting for. Please bear in mind that those numbers should not define your success on the day. Recognize that there is a lot more to the day than the sub whatever. Focus on the other things too, because if you define success by time and you miss that time, you will feel some measure of failure. I've seen it quite a few times now and I hate it for the triathlete. Just finishing the day is success. We must not lose sight of it and all the variables that could go wrong must be factored into your goals to some degree to ensure the best psychological result. |

Master 5557 , California | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I'm going in with a lot less run volume than I had planned for, due to my calf strain. But I'm 100% convinced I did the right thing by cutting out running for most of May and focusing on the bike. I ran a 12k race last week, pain-free. |
