My plans this week are: Tuesday/Thursday - swim 1200m, Wednesday - cycle 20k, Friday - run 5k, Sat - cycle 30k, Sunday run 8k. Next week - Monday - rest, Tuesday - swim 1000m, Wednesday - run 5k, Thursday - rest, Friday - drive to Freeport, Saturday - giddyup its race day! Does this seem like a reasonable plan? Pete |

Just swinging by, work decided that blocking a bunch of sites, including BT was generating too much noise (i.e. why are we the only ones in the company doing this?) and has stopped blocking them. Makes it a lot easier to post workouts to my logs. Did a 800m timed swim yesterday in prep for my race this weekend. Knocked 6 mins off from last years race result, now I can only hope that I can get close to that in the actual race. Ordered a new rear tire for racing. Its a Conti GP Triathlon, will get it too late for my race this weekend but will try it out and hopefully use it for my race next month. DD wants to join Girls on the Run but it's two nights a week. Add in gymnastics, piano lessons, and homework and I don't think we have enough hours in the day. Posted a thread in the IM area but looking for options for shipping my bike for B2B. May rent a bike case and fly with it but that means getting a rental car that can hold 3 guys, luggage, and 2 bikes. Fun. FBP - looks good to me but I will let our fearless leader answer that one. Only my bike was way short today because I had to take Keaton to get a hair cut before his dad tried to cut it!!  Oh and I made front page news again! Even though it is just an Oly, I am really nervous because I've never done the combined distances before. I am fully prepared to be DFL and will only be disappointed if I DNF and can only imagine that happening if I have a bike mechanical problem. Mav - whether or not you are racing, I am really looking forward to meeting you in person! In non-tri news, it looks like we will have a new member of the FBP clan later today - a Cockapoo puppy. Breeder is supposed to be bringing it by at suppertime. Mrs FBP is BEYOND excited but also feeling very emotional as she thinks about our beloved Dusty who was put down in January (at age 15+). Did a 20k ride first thing this morning - seemed so short compared to last week's 50k !! Tomorrow a 6-7k run is my plan. Any of you have goofy pre-race rituals? For me it's going to get a haircut |

Swim, I beat my time from last year by 3 minutes but still a slow time. Also beat my bike time but almost hit my goal. Run was horrid, very hot, miserable, worst 5k I have every run. DS' soccer team didn't do well and didn't make the playoffs. Lena - good luck on the half! In my prayers Billy - Nice! Amy - sweet ride! I am jealous! |
