It's natural to want to start back where you left off, but too much too soon could result in injury. I'm a big fan of intervals training, and that works well for getting back into running. Run a certain time, walk a shorter time, run the same time, walk etc, for a set time or distance. Decrease the walk interval each week until you are running the distance. Then begin adding, only 10 percent increase each week. Also, once comfortable you can begin to do speed intervals. Hope that helps! Susie |
