And that was really well written/thought-of. I miss that first time feeling... maybe I should try an ironman someday.

All I can vouch for this week is to go for a bike and a run. I need to take it slow since I've been out for a while.

Happy training everyone!

Hi guys -

I know I said I'd go out for exercise this week, but since it snowed yesterday, I might not. We'll see.

... It frustrates me because I'm not ready to sit on the bike trainer yet!!! It's worse than a treadmill!

Hi Greg, I agree. Treadmill and windtrainers are a special type of torture

Wow, I can't even imagine seeing snow in Oct!  We get MAYBE 1 or 2 days of snow a year and it is usually melted by the next morning.  I still don't have a trainer and not sure if I will get one.  My mission this year is to suck it up and continue to workout outside.  I don't really have much of a winter workout wardrobe (say that 3 times fast!) so I need to buy a few things.  I know for many of you 40-50 is not very cold, but it is for down here!

So have we settled on our goals for Nov?  I've already got my schedule planned out and if I stick to it then I should make it.

I don't have much of a winter workout wardrobe either, Tim, and I'm planning on mostly being outside, especially for our challenge in November.

I do have an UnderArmour shirt that I bought 7 years ago to ride roller coasters at King's Island at the end of October, so I can layer T-shirts over that.

I did read on here that Target's Champion sportswear is comparable to UnderArmour (and much cheaper), so I bought some tight leggings to wear underneath my running pants yesterday.

Other than that, and a $2 black tobogan that makes me look like a crook, that's all I've got.

(Tim and Toni:  Thanks for the Inspires re: my race.  It is pretty cool.)

... no goals yet for november. Starting to feel that itch again, but not quite.

I am doing that 100 pushups training thing though... maybe that counts for something??

Hello!  I know I've disappeared for a while, I'm sorry.  I have been reading up on all of your logs though.  I just haven't had the free time I usually do.  I have a few more weeks of craziness I think, but hopefully after that I can get back to being supportive.  I will attempt the ironman distances for November.  I have a pool at my gym, so that shouldn't be a problem.  My concern is the bike.  Does spinning count at all?  It's getting kinda cold outstide.  Hopefully this will be a push to make sure I'm doing at least something.

Well congratulations to all of you.  It's been an amazing season for all of us I think.  We've all done things we probably never thought we would.  And it sounds like we're ready for the next challenge.  I am glad to have a little bit of down time where I don't feel like if I miss a workout its the end of the world, but I'm also really looking forward to next year and getting my plan together and goals set. (Sorry Michelle, I know this is just the beginning of the season for you, good luck!

Ok..so I'm totally planning on the November challenge. So, now I've got to get my butt in gear and get my plan started..what's wrong with me? Now that I'm feeling a bit better, my heads back in the game.

This is going to be fun. I'll post my plan as soon as I write it!

I plan on re-joining the Y..so swimming may be in that plan as well. Let's hope!

I am so excited about starting this, not so much about the cold weather I'll be training in, but so is the life of a triathlete.  (I'll take it.)

Tomorrow, I'm going to drive an hour away w/ my bike and hit this trail a friend of mine and I had done a couple times.  I'm planning on biking 2 hours or 25 miles - or more if I can hack it.

It's supposed to be in the upper 60s and there won't be many more days like that in November so I'm jumping on it.

Good luck to all ya'll and Happy Halloween.

- Lora

I can't believe I'm writing these words, but I just biked 24 miles!  If it wasn't for this challenge, I doubt I would have pushed myself that much.

So, as of today, I've completed just a little over 25% of the monthly bike goal.  How exciting!

Thanks, Michelle, though you have made me quite curious as to what the slang means.

Oh, and, though I logged that mileage, I was feeling it majorly yesterday evening and last night, and it's continuing through today.  Going from 12 to 24 is probably insane, but it did feel good to know that I could get it done if I had to.  So, here I go, looking at Tuesday for a repeat performance.  Whose idea was this challenge, anyway?

On second thought, I might get closer to the IM goal than I thought I would this month.

I have three good days to cycle to work (14km one way) this week, and I already went for a run
