Today is the only day everyone is at my work area. We staggered our mandatory 3-day work weeks. Which blow.

wurkit_gurl - 2008-09-17 3:30 PM A lot of people are out today. I am always here. Which blows.

Was that a question? It blows that a lot of people are out today. You being here does not blow.

I am jealous of those folks who can make their own hours and go and leave and take a long lunch to go running, or leave early and go riding. I am stuck here from 8:30 to 6 every day. I get exactly 1 hour for lunch. Though I am going to try and see if I can change my hours to 8 to 5, once I join the tri club I want to join.

Yes. Its a drag. There are advantages to making your own hours.

Well, it just sucks that if I come in really early, I can't then leave early. If I came in at 6 am, I'd still have to stay here until 6 pm.

Now that's a problem. My hours a officially 8:30 to 5:00 but ihave been coming in around 7 and leaving at 3:30 or so. Its a pisser you cannot flex your hours.

Yeah, my hours are "technically" 9 to 6. But I ALWAYS come in early - and then cannot leave early. And for the first year I worked here, I didn't take lunch breaks - and still don't every day.

Somebody call the wahhhhhmbulance.

Shut it - I don't get paid enough to work 12 hour days. It's so not worth it. ACtually, no job is worth 12 hour days. I work to pay bills and buy things that I need and want. I'm not one of those "live to work" types.

I dunno, I just feel like life is too short to spend in an office all dang day. My dad turned down a few promotions, even though he would have made even more money, because they would have required him to basically never be home. He decided that his family was more important. I don't blame him.

Well of course not, I just work in regular corporate America. No one is unionized and everyone works ridiculous hours. I'm not even hourly - I'm salaried. So working longer hours earns me nothing.

own my own company, work from home, can come and go as i please but still end up working 50+ hours per week - just not "traditional" hours (which comes in handy when trying to sell to Hong Kong or China) and LOVE IT!  I try and get out about 10-12 everyday for my workouts and eat lunch at my desk when i get back.

all of you "stuck" employees can all tell me to go f*** myself now.  Tongue out

If/when I have a family, sure. For now... I'm all about moving up as fast as possible and making as much money as possible.

I'm single, I have no one to be accountable to. But I also know that if I worked 12 hour days and never had any time for myself or my friends, I would absolutely miserable. While I do wish I made more money, I'm not looking to make 6 figures - ever. So perhaps we have different priorities.

Besides, I didn't think you ever wanted to get married or have a family

Marriage and Family is over rated.. same piece of booty for life, kids killing your game, football games are replaced with ballet recitals, the sports car becomes a suburban, the chrismas tree that mom gave you has ornaments instead of beer cans... etc. But I do tell all my single friends when we are out and they are looking for booty, hahaha, I going home and getting some and well, all you have is a phone number to text. OWN!
