4.2 (4.21) mile run commute this morning. Sunrise was beautiful as it lit up the front range mountains and the temp was a perfect 45 degrees. Nice run!

Went out today with every intention of doing 5. But, after about 2, I was knackered and came back making it only 3 today. I did 2500yds in the pool this morning and then gave 1/2 a pint of blood before breakfast. Hmm, a bit too much today?

Sunrise over the mountains. Hmm...I didn't see that on my run. I'm a bit jealous now.

Wow. Think all you need to do now is a hard bike at race pace for a couple of hours. Or just a box of donuts.

Knocked out my 3 miler before lunch. Felt weird. I have a sinus infection, so I have zero energy, but I could feel strong legs beneath me. Had to check and make sure they were my own.

Now it's rest up till the race Sunday.

Run fast Headless!

Sal, I apologize, I ran today.  You need to put in some time to stay 10.00% more complete than me.  Cynthia

O.K., um, yeah...missed my run this morning...I SLEPT IN UNTIL 7am!!!

Work was busy today...no run at lunch...

Hope for a 'long' run tomorrow...I'll have to stalk your blog and see what I'll need to make it back up to 10.00% 'more complete' than you...

I've been stalking your results. I NEED to be EXACTLY 10% ahead of you...I'm OCD...wait, no...that's The Todd. He HATES when I don't round to the nearest half hour.

Exactly. I don't like Ivory soap either. The whole 99.44 thing just kills me.

always made me wonder what that other smidge was...

Something wrong with swimming with me?

Have a short, easy 3 miler at lunch today. Then an off day tomorrow.

Sunday is race day - 300m swim, 13.5 mile bike, 5K run. Last of the season, so no holding back.

My stretch goals are 5:00 swim, 22 mph bike, sub 20-minute run. If I pull that off, I will be a very happy camper.

Good luck in your race. You can do it!

Everyone is getting in some good workouts. Keep it going!

10.31 for me today. A couple races over the weekend. I should be over 2000 miles for the year in a few days.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I did a 5K this morning in 21:35, another 3rd in AG, 17th overall. I had hoped to run faster, but I guess my 10.3 mile taper run yesterday took a little bit out of me. I ran another 5 miles or so when I got home to burn off some energy and have a good stretch after. I had close to 69 miles for the week.

Have a great weekend everybody!

uh, Don, I think taper run are generally SHORTER than race lengths.  10 mile taper run.  sheesh.  All that trail dust is shorting out your synapses

good race -  and cool down.

If it cools off enough early enough I'll get one in this afternoon... we're potty training my son and the neighborhood board of directors is imploding... I may NEEED the sanity break!

I got my run in after dark.  I left a crying child in bed and returned to the same bawling child.  It was quiet on my run.

Sal, I've almost caught up to you... percentage complete-wise.  In other measurements you're miles, minutes, years, etc. ahead of me.

My left quad is aching again.  I tried running on the wrong side of the road (with traffic) for about 1/3 of the run to see if that helped... maybe.  I wish it would just plain old stop.  I'm otherwise enjoying running!

run horsies run.

What will I do next month?  I did send in my race fee   11/27, here comes my first 10K race!

Shorter??? Why didn't anyone ever tell me that? =)

Today's XC race went well. I measured 4.67 miles. Time was 39:15. Another 3rd in AG. That is my highest placement ever in this series.

I ran several more miles later.

Keep running horses!

Well after being sick all week I manged a 7 mile run today along a lovely trail with trees changing colour, beautiful flowing river, loads of wildlife and of course your resident masturbater.  Can't beat it.   I'm a little beyond my 50% goal still plenty of time and I also have a 10 miler next Sunday so I think I'm right on track!

How is everyone else? Hope you're enjoying your Sunday

Note to self, when you have a sinus infection and don't start taking antibiotics until Friday, don't expect great things in a race on Sunday.

Swim: 5:21 for 300m

Bike: 42:26 for 13.5 miles (19.1 mph)

Run: 20:31 for 5K (6:37 pace)

I felt ok on the swim, but once I got out on the bike I had no energy at all. I put out a hard effort, but the legs just weren't there. Felt a little better on the run, but fell short of my sub-20.

Oh well, now I can take a break from the bike and stay focused on the run. Less than 2 months till off season 1/2 mary #1.

Ok I admit I slacked off last week pretty bad, but am going to make up for it this week, since our weather has finally cooled down here i can start running at lunch during work, it is a little over a 4 mile run so if I do that for a few days plus my daily runs I will be back on pace at the end of the week. Plus am stoked now that the Rays are in the World Series - life is good!

4.11 at lunch completed today.

Not quite what you wanted, but still a good race. Medications can take away some energy.

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday it was mid 70s, today it's low 40s, windy, and drizzle. It almost made me not go for my run. I only went for 8.84 today at a very slow easy pace. I omitted the hill toward the end I normally do. Enough hills yesterday. Today's run put me over 2000 miles for the year.

Unfortunately 48 seconds more energy and I'm 2nd in my AG instead of 4th. Oh well.
