Alright ran my first full mile in over a year! Whoo Hoo! Nothing like 22*F and 20 MPH wind to get you to keep running. I think I'll hold this distance for a bit though then I can start building. I also did the first day of the Hundred pushup thing, I can barely move my arm right now.
I think I'm going to crawl into my shower now and see if I can raise my arms enough to wash.

George.

I have a speed workout and weights on tap for today.  Won't get done until later as I need to actually go into the office.  That is if my 8 year old goes to school.  He was feeling pretty crappy yesterday.  We've been lucky with skirting all the stuff going around so I hope he didn't bring it in afterallSurprised

OK - so I made myself go out and run a couple of miles today - the run was frustrating and the conditions were frustrating, but I'm glad that I went out and did it - to log the miles feels like some sort of accomplishment even if the run itself didn't feel to great.

30 minute walk/jog done, bike later tonight after my sister picks up my niece. I have to get my cardio in either while the kids nap or they are in school. Yikes, that limits my time, but also gives me a set window.

I finally got in the pool! Yeah! It felt so good. I wanted to swim longer but I remembered how much my chest hurt after the first time I ever swam and decided to cut it off at 30min. How the heck do you keep track of your distance. I was trying but I lost track. My pool is 20 yds and I know that I was able to swim 200 non stop, I could have gone longer but never tried, it was towards the end of my w/o. Next swim I'll see how far I can go or maybe I shoot for 1/4 mile than go up from there (once I can get there).
Plus I taught yoga today! That felt good after my 9 mile run yesterday

I find it easier to count laps by 25s or 50s...rather then 1, 2,3....  I used to do the alphabet thing too- but now I am just used to counting.  Also if you wear a watch you will kind of know how long it takes to swimm 100 yds.

Awesome job on finding the pool.  And great run- I say anything is possible with an ipod

Terri and any one else-

Looking thru my training bible (yes I am a dork) they have estimates pace zonesbased on a5K run- so I used your New Years pace the closest they had to it was 24:35..... and got these

Z1- 10:54 +
Z2- 9:38- 10:54
Z3- 8:57-9:37
Z4- 8:27- 8:56
Z5- 8:11- 8:25
5b 7:35- 8:10
5c 7:34- max

they seem maybe a little slow- but probaly pretty close...Ill see how they compare to mine

Ok- when I compare my zones from an actual LT test to the ones that coordinate with my best 5K.... they are almost exactly the same.

So Id say go ahead and use those

Tammy-

This is what I got for zones from my coach, seem a little low but maybe not (used resting HR, age, and something else)?  Don't have a 5K time to use.  Can something else be substituted?

Running Zones:

Zone 1  0-121
Zone 2  122-130
Zone 3  131-136
Zone 4  137-142
Zone 5  143-146
Zone 6  147-152
Zone 7  153-255

Biking Zones:

Zone 1  0-109
Zone 2  110-123
Zone 3  124-129
Zone 4  130-137
Zone 5  138-141
Zone 6  142-146
Zone 7  147-255
