Subject: RE: Newbz winter training group is FULL!!!!!first, sorry that made no sense. i meant, for most of us, once you hit a point where you are fit, and your body resists losing more weight, its a good idea to try and stay there for a while before attempting to get a bit lighter, if at all. the reason for this is your body has stabalized at a point where it is preforming well, and going under that can be very bad if you go about it in thw wrong ways, health, training, mood, all sorts of issues.
on the swimming, using thep ull bouy some is a good way to learn rotation and not worry about sinking/isolating the arms. however, make sure you do a lot of swimming without it as well, it can become a crutch. lifting at this point will not make you a faster swimmer, it is mainly a tech and fitness thing. look at the little middle school swimmers that look like they weigh about 80 pounds, not much muscle going on there.

I weighed in last night. I have stayed at 136.5. I think I've lost more inches though. I'm having body fat checked again in 2 weeks. David, What do you mean by going lighter? I swam this morning using a float between the knees and focused on the arms. Does anyone know if this is a good strategy to build my arm strength to increase speed? I probably need to lift more weights. |
