Chris I certainly understand the pull between family and training. It will all balance out if you give a bit. I finally got mud on my tires! New (Four months) road bike out on its maiden road trip today. Storms again tommoroow and I have to run up to SL to cover out JC team as they fight for a shot at the NJCAA tournament. But spring is coming to UT. I hope so I already have to go shoot shots of college baseball this week too. very tired of snow and mudan dready to rock anf roll on the bike and trails.

I hope you enjoyed your stay.  I'm sure the traffic and overall urban sprawl is something you are missing big time!

Which part were you in?

I was on Buffalo Speedway near the stadium. My in laws live down there, so we were visiting for 4 days.

Hello everyone! It looks like everyone is working hard these days..  Ran 3.25 tonight and biked for 45 min. I sustained a pace of 21 mpr for 20 min,  busted  my back side tonight. Overall, my archillis tendon has been tight and giving me a little trouble. And keeping motivated this year has been tough. I'm keeping my focus day by day right now.

What is up everyone?  Been a little quite in here lately?

How's everyone's training going?  When are your next races?

Oh...I am starting a "100 Push-Up Challenge"  next Monday.  The goal is to be able to do 100 pushups at one time after a 6 week training program.  All this cardio training is leaving me looking a little weak in the upper body.

If anyone else is up for the challenge please join me.  We can report back each week on how it is going.  If you want more details click on my blog in the signature - it is the most recent post!

I will do the challenge with you I was able to do 45 in one minute last week but it hurt later, no tri until may.  My wife and I are leaving warm east Texas and going to Cleveland this wkend for our 2nd anniversary. Yes Cleveland Ohio the most romantic city in the U.S.  OK the last part was sarcasm but we are going to Cleveland she wants to see the rock n roll Hall of fame and the pro football hall of fame.  My workouts have slacked this last week I was sick and also tryig to finish a paper for theory class.

I actually busted out 75 a couple of days ago...probably could've done 100 with crappy form at the end.  I'm doing P90X dvd's a few times a week and I'm keeping most of my core fitness.  I  did the hundredpushups challenge and got up to 78 before I had to back off it to train for a marathon.  100 good pushups is definitely an accomplishment.  Good luck!

LoL on Cleveland!
I am in Vegas (mostly for work) until Wednesday night. Training starts back on Friday. I took 3 weeks off and I really miss the workouts. That was the plan, to build up some desire to train before the LONG HAUL to Nov 21. I've got the entire Spring/Summer planned out already. It'll be neat to see how close I come to the training plan.
I'd like to join the hundred pushups challenge, but I've failed at it twice!  I know it's only a few minutes each day, but I just can't seem to make myself do them. Maybe this spring I'll succeed.

When do we begin?

Lance and Chad in for the 100 PU Challenge!!!  It will officially start next Monday the 22nd.  This week do the fit test - which is just a one set max and report back how many PUs you were able to do.  I did mine last night and did 41 ... not gonna lie, it hurt a little!

Lance have fun in CLE.  I was just talking to my sister and she is in CLE for work and told me it was a balmy 58 degrees and sunny.  Am jealous that you are going to Canton. That would be sooo cool!

Chad - that training plan looks tight man!  Good luck and have fun! Are you going to plan your diet/nutrition out as well?

That's a pretty beautiful plan!

As for the push up challenge, I think I'll pass. If you guys complete it, I think the next challenge should be a 50 pull up/curl up challenge. OOOOH YEAH. For that one I'll join!

Ok Jeff my fit test was 46, there has to be some advantage to being 225lbs because it doesn't help my running.  I am in that over 40 yrs old group also.  Yes I am the old fat man of the group

Umm, I'm just back from Coyote Ugly and I'm well drunk, too drunk to do some pushups. I'm sorry everyone. I'm not really a suitable mentor. Our season in AZ doesn't end until Nov 21 (IMAZ!!) so I can't bring myself to start training until late March.  Someday soon, I'll be a suitable role model. Today isn't that day.

That is awesome!  Are you staying at NewYork, NewYork?  Such a wonderful place that LV.  You are an inspiration Chad, anyone other than a superior  triathlete would be unable to even turn on the computer let alone type!  That is endurance my friend!

I am in for the push up challenge. I have also failed 2 twice before, but with some accountability I am feeling positive about third times the charm. I will post up my max in a few days.

I am hanging in there. If it isn't one thing its another. Haven't done any Tri stuff yet, but I am hoping to change that soon. After the marathon I took a break, then ran the Dallas R n R half, (guess i should do a race report for that) and have played lots of soccer. Not planning on doing any racing until the beginning of June, so training "should" be starting pretty soon.

Thanks for asking Smile

I took a week off-or rather it took me. I got to get outside and run today. 34 degrees but if I don't go when its cold there is too much mud. Chad, you are still a great mentor. I need someone who lets loose once in a while and does not take this all too seriously. Jeff, alsways amaze me on how much you do and I certainly pick up a lot from your posts. and Lance its good to have another "older " person in this group. I am 53 and not the skinny minny of my youth. It is good to read these posts because even when I hit my wall last week, I knew I would not let too much time get away if I just stayed tuned in to this group.
