kcarroll - 2010-08-04 10:57 AM Morning, sort of...still, Ghouligans.  Got a run in early, then got totally scrambled at work.

Good job on the run.

You should take the rest of the day off to unscramble.

Well, I am going to leave early to meet with a contractor about my master bath.  It's either a new toilet or a complete re-do.  Not sure which yet.  Budget says just a new commode, but I've been know to say "wth, as long as you're here, lets do X too.

Before you set the budget... how many bikes do you own?

Only 3.... at the moment.

That's a tough call then.

Weren't you looking at someone's bike recently and thinking about buying it? How did that go?

Yeah, it was an Orbea tri-bike.  Couldn't get the fit right so I passed.  I decided I can manage with the roadie for now (just put on clip-on aero's) since I may do only 1 or 2 more tris this year.  If there are some good end of year bargains on a tri-bike, I might go that route yet.  I'm just not riding that much and don't see that changing as these weekend long runs start to get long.

Wait... the long runs are going to get longer? What the he!! were we thinking?

I know.  And it's not just the time it takes to run, which for me is painfully slow.  By the time you add on taping up the various grumpy body parts, eating something and getting the fuel belt packed, the run itself, the post run shower, chow and recovery nap in compression tights it is taking up A LOT of my Saturday.  I like the recovery nap the most.

These always sound good at the time.  Smile Actually, I kind of enjoy the long runs more than the shorter ones, but they are a time-eater.

There should be a post long run massage in there, too. Where is Tom, he is unemployed this month. He should come to the east and support us.

I am off for the afternoon. Going out for seafood (read as meat, Ann) this evening with a horde of people. I am running on the tread mill. It is 95 degrees and it is so humid I think going outside qualifies as a swim!

I'm trying to come up with something exciting...

Nothing...

Well I guess being "propositioned" by a grocery store clerk could be construed as exciting...

I made chicken from a tri magazine recipe yesterday...

My friend says I race with an "angry, pain face"

I like to call it my "focused" face. I was in a bit of pain, I won't lie. She says I need to smile more...

Ya...hahahaha...

I'm still not sure it was a proposition or just a really, really random "okay...I'm being polite, have a nice night" statement...haha

Tom's kids are in school. Amy's youngest is in school. School starts there next week. My kids would be upset, they don't go back until the 25th and they're complaining about that.

Last nights post--no one reads my 9pm PST posts Haha

So...

I got off the plane and went to the grocery store to get food. I guess its pretty obvious I am buying for 1 person...haha...1L of milk, juice...2 chicken breasts...bistro express rice...some peaches...stuff...

Anyways...I was purchasing my groceries...male clerk. Small talk...blah blah blah...anyways I had paid and was grabbing my bags and he goes to me, "just let me know if you need anything else tonight"...

I kid you not...did I just get propositioned by the clerk at Safeway? Wtf?

I made a tough decision yesterday and will not be doing the PTC TRI on the 21st.
I figured with the upper respitory problems that I've dealt with for the past 6 weeks and the limited training that I would be smart to let my body finish getting better.  They transfered my registration to next  year, so I'm already registered for it next year.

Either that or he sells drugs.  I'd go with the proposition.  That means he thought you were hawt!

kns57 - 2010-08-04 12:38 PM I made a tough decision yesterday and will not be doing the PTC TRI on the 21st.
I figured with the upper respitory problems that I've dealt with for the past 6 weeks and the limited training that I would be smart to let my body finish getting better.  They transfered my registration to next  year, so I'm already registered for it next year.

At least they rolled over the entry fee for you! That was good of them.
