kcarroll - 2010-08-23 11:20 AM Gotta weigh in on the dog/cat discussion.  I love dogs, but like Kendra they don't work with my lifestyle (pending changes excluded.)  One of the volunteer opps I'm looking at is at the Seeing Eye institute where they train service dogs.

I have really cool cats.  One is old and getting rather frail, but he was a terror in his younger days - in a good way.  My other one is like a dog in a cat's body.  He fetches, follows you around and when the doorbell rings he runs to greet whoever is there.  When they come in, he rolls over for a belly scratch. He's great with little kids, which is odd for a cat. And he likes water, but sadly can't go outside.  Around here, he'd be lunch for some fox.

OK, the rain has stopped so I'm going to go run now.  Probability that I'll still get soaked is high.  Will be back with more things I like after I knock out a few miles.

As expected, I got soaked during my lunchtime run. The weather gods were having fun today.  As soon as I got out the door, it started coming down in sheets.  The water couldn't get off the road fast enough, so it was a puddle run.  For giggles and grins, I weighed my shoes and clothes afterwards and they clocked in at 4.8 lbs.  Will do a comparison weigh in after the shoes dry out.

Nice.

I saw that parts of NYC were getting rained on pretty hard and there was some flooding. I was wondering if you were getting any of it or not.
