I went on a running gear shopping spree yesterday.  I picked up some long sleeve tech shirts and some 3/4 tights.  We have a lot of that in-between weather here in Indiana.  It's too cool for just shorts but not quite cold enough to get all tricked out in tights and other assorted cold gear.  And of course I saw a thousand other things that I wanted.  I caved and bought a new pair of shorts because they were just too cool to pass up.  It took all my willpower to leave an awesome Nike shirt on the hanger.  It said, "I'm not a tomboy, I'm just better than you."  If it had been any color other than white it would have been mine.  I would not have been able to resist.

"Hi I'm here! All is well. Feel very badly for those affected by volcano/mudslide/earthquake/tsunami. Just constant thunderstorms here a la Forrest Gump, but that's usual, except it means I have a constantly crappy, dialup-speed-when-it's-good Internet connection (easier to get to Ghoulies thread than Crushers, heh!)"

She visited the opposing team to let them know she's okay. Some explaining to do Yanti!

LUUUUUCY you got some 'splainin' to do ...

It takes 1-3 min to pull up EACH page, so I just click on whichever thread is the freshest in the Challenge forum. Y'all will just have to stay on top, hmmm?

I am using this down time not, though Judi will be disappointed, to write a novel, but putting together my incredibly bizarre bike trainer.

What do you MEAN, not all the parts follow righty-tighty lefty-loosy????

I haven't bought any running stuff online. I don't need much for gloves when running. I picked up a thin pair of basic gloves for a couple of bucks at Walmart that work fine for me. have to agree on the running part.  I bought an ASICS jacket for running and have worn it 1 or 2 times I think and that was snowshoeing to keep the snow off of my back from the kick motion.

You are going to overheat pretty quick on the run.  A basic hat and gloves will work down to temps where it probably isn't safe to run anyways.

Biking - whole different story because of natural wind chill effect.

Just a hat and gloves?

Good afternoon, crushers!

I updated my numbers on the spreadsheet today.  I sure hope we just have lots of folks that need to update their numbers.  We may be winning the posting war but we are down by a bit in the challenge.  We can't let those Ghoulies win!

There's over 200 parts to this damned thing. Only 50 pieces, I was wrong about the 30 (don't pay attention to the picture OR the list of parts), but many of them have 4-6 each. I'm so confuzzled. However, I do have the frame, the magnet alloy rotor, and one leg with adjustor put together. The last time I scratched my head, though, an ant fell out.

Does this thing double as a time machine or something?  I can think of no other reason to have so many parts.

Actually, no, I think your average magnetic trainer probably does have 200+ parts, counting screws/washers/nuts/bolts/bushings/etc. The problem here is that every single piece of this trainer was exactly that. I have no idea which parts of which little bits go with each other, much less where they go on the big bits to hold them together in what order and direction.

Heh. Actually I could just take it back to the crackhouse, bat my eyes at the piglets and I'm sure they'd put it together for me at a MAXIMUM charge of $5. Probably less. Like, just for a tip. And they probably know what they're doing.

But I'm getting a secret, sick kind of pleasure out of this.
