I would do a 'random challenge update,' but since I was already a slacker before, I'm in even worse shape now! Wow, I'm not *completely* weighing the Easties down like a brick anymore Not *quite* caught up to where the month is, but at least I'm over half! |

Expert 908 Niskayuna, New York | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Did 7 miles today as part of my muscular endurance brick. This also marks the beginning of my taper, so hopefully I'll be able to get enough short and easy runs in to complete my goal! |

Master 1623 | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Got my run in today!! It was pretty short since it was getting pretty dark out but I really pushed myself on this run and it was one of the fastest runs I've had in a long time (well fast for me anyway ) |

Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Sorry I have been away west team. Since August 5th I have separated from Active Duty in the Marine Corps, went back east to see family in NJ, and then flew back to New Orleans to move to San Antonio. It has been chaotic at best. I will have to go through my notes to see what work outs I accomplished. I think I loged all of my walks and runs to date. Once I am cuaght up I will update the spreadsheet. |

Just wanted to report in and say that I have logged some runs this week and will be running every day until the end of the month so I will reach my goal. Some will be runs and some will be walk/runs that way I don't trash my knees. Keep up all the good work Chris |

So I have a question.......why am I always STARVING immediately after a swim but can't stomach the thought of food after a long run. BTW, nice swim. |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Last night I remembered why I hate love challenges. I didn't get my run in before work. (Danger Will Robinson.) Got home tired and hungry around 8pm. Running late in the day is not my thing. Plan only called for 3 miles, so very tempting to skip it. But it's close enough to the end of the month that I'd probably not make the miles up. So, I taped up the knees and went out for hill repeats in the dark. Today is a rest day, but I'm wfh so probably will do something. Not sure what. Maybe take the townie bike out to run errands before the weather goes to poop. Tomorrow is a long run, then batten down the hatches while Irene roars. Run Westies, Run! |

Same for just about everybody re. the swim (I'm starving after long runs too, though, but not like swimming). Lots of reasons, but for me I think the main one is the water continually cools your skin down, signalling your brain to say NEED ENERGY TO CREATE HEAT NOW!!! |

Yanti wants to swim too. Maybe a swimming option then? :D That she does. It's going to be a challenge to keep up (and keep increasing) this level of swimming in addition to bike and run for IM training. WELCOME BACK TO THE CHALLENGES MELISSA CRUSHER And as I said to you--in my memory September is a traditional swim or swim/run month for challenges ... and gee we just had a run challenge |
