elcaminobill - 2012-04-18 7:57 PM More like 10 at a time from two different piers.

Ironman claims that one person is leaving every 3 seconds from each of the piers.

Look it up on youtube.  It's probably 2-3 every second.

I have actually been there as I am sure many of you have.  The 10 at a time was an overstatement on purpose.  We will leave from 2 piers at a time, probably equal to 1 every second ( counting both piers), but, I can tell you it is not a problem at all.

Here is the link from 2010:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjy1TDq23ds

Looks like they are going off about 2 or 3 per second at some points....but it moves, obviously.

I've done the race twice... I simply stated what Ironman claims.

Ramping up the running a bit for my duties as pacer for my wife in her BQ attempt at the San Diego RnR marathon on June 3rd. Should make for a good training day for me as well as a PR since I've only ever done one standalone Mary and that was on lackluster training after CdA last year.Have still yet to get in the pool to start my build for KY...guess I need to get on that. :D

Wife comes first at this point, plenty of time to swim.

X2... Something to think about. You can cover a lot more ground in 15 mins of running than you can swimming.

No, you aren't the only one! I check everyday to but I'm more of a 'looker' than I am a poster. How's the training going?

Trainining different this time around.  Not as intense but with a coach.  Trying to finish in under 13hours, 12:59:59 would be just fine with me.

Am very excited fro a rematch!

First tri of the season is this weekend. Crawfishman in south Lousiana Sunday morning!

A tip for those who don't know. At the lower right corner of the page there is a link named toggle email notifications. Click that and then make your choice on the next page to get emails whenever anyone posts anything in this thread. It works great!

What is everyone's training looking like this weekend? I am currently nursing a sprained ankle from a fall down the stairs. That said, I am going going to try to get in 100 for the first time this year on Sunday.

Now that it's starting to warm up I'm getting excited for this race.  I'm happy with how my training has been going so far - no huge #'s but lots of really good consistency since Feb.  Missed a couple days of training in early Feb due to illness, then 1 day in early March due to business travel but that is it.   Worked out every single day from March 6 through end of April.

Yes, I broke my collar bone in February, so I am behind.  I did 60 last weekend, and probably will do 75-80 on sunday.  Need to pick up my swim and running, as well. I will probably do a 15 mile run on saturday.  Good on you for going after 100 already.  I think I will do 4-5 centuries before the race, though.  Everyone else?

Since you are not far from Madison... This is what I am planning on doing:

I feel everyone's pain... I've been battling IT band issues for a couple of weeks now. Just hoping I can still do my half on 5/12 without messing my knee up!

Any participants in Tri-fest at Taylorsville Lake state park on the 12th or 13th?  I signed up for the half and will not be ready to do much more than finish by then but figured it would be a good measuring stick of my current fitness.

Anyone know if they have repaired the bridge on the finger part of the course?

I remember having to slow down there from the down hill due to all the holes in the concrete.

Anyone have any more thoughts/conclusions on a "Compact Crank"?  I am in a 53/29 front and 11-29 in the back.  made the mistake of hanging at the LBS and talking about this Compact Crank.  Head is spinning, but I perked up when they said it would help with hills

I'm doing the Olympic at Trifest. I just ran a marathon in Nashville this past weekend and I'm pretty sure I won't be ready to run much more than that only 2 weeks after.
