Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() @Kristen, I hear your frustration with the scale; today I weigh 6 pounds more than I did three days ago, which is kind of ridiculous. I have read that a fair amount of water is retained when excess carbs are converted and stored as glycogen; maybe weight goes up with a pre-race carb load and after a "cheat" day. I had plenty of starchy food and fruit so far this week. Bet I'll be 'down' 3 again soon ..?! |

![]() | ![]() This was a cruel week on the scale for me as well!!! Must be the moon!LOL Hope you all are ready for race day on Sunday. Even if it snows in the early am it should be clear by 11 am. Dont get all nerved up over this race....its for fun. My goals for races are not to finish last and not to throw up...if I make one of my goals then its a good race!!!! It will be fun to meet everyone. There will be plenty of other BTers there as well!!!! Make sure you rest a bit over the next two days. Nothing to be gained from running over the next 2 days. |

Was it a full moon this week?? So, I haven't done anything in over a week either. And my foot has been messed up this week and is just now starting to come around. Hopefully it will be 100% by Sunday! |

![]() | ![]() Good Morning! I am looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. I plan on being there around 9:45 am.I have sent those racing a private message with my cell number ( Erica and Erin I didnt pm you because I think you have it). I will be wearing a dark orange vest/ olive green in the back( initially I thought it was just orangeLOL) with a white New Balance shirt under it. I will be near the Tri Valley Front Runners Table ( I am pretty sure they will have one). Please call me if you cant find me by this description!!!! We will be going to Chipolte in Mansfield Crossing after the race. My understanding is that it is quite close to the race venue. Rather than post directions...I figure you can google it... For those running the 5 K, if you dont feel like waiting for us 10 mile people feel free to eat and leave... I know it will be a while for me to finish. A few race day reminders. Dress in layers. My understanding is that there are 3 water stops on tthe 10 mile course...if you need more than that plan accordingly. Drink today and be hydrated in the morning. Looks like the weather will be perfect. Most of all have fun out there~ |

![]() | ![]() Looks like a great day for a race. I went to Foxboro yesterday after the gym to check out the route,. Looks pretty good. I got my shirt but numbers werent ready...the shirt is nice. The place where the registration takes place is small!!!! I am doubtful that we will be able to hangout inside so be prepared to be out doors while we wait for the race to start! I also would suggest a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts to use their bathrooms as there were not that many porta pots! Hope to see you all there |

It was so nice to meet you all in person At mile 9 "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun " came on my i pod...it just really summed up the day for me. It was fun!!!! Erin, thanks for running with me and pushing me. Without you I would NEVER have run that last hill!!!!! I look forward to running the Quincy half with both you and Kristin. Erica...always good to see your smiling face...I do see a half in your future...you know you want to!!!!! For those of you who were not with us...I hope you were running virtually. lauren, did you run? Sorry, we missed you!!! |

Its great to go back and read your own reports and know what you thought of the course, your prep, how you did overall in the race and things you would do differently. It also is a refrence for others who will do the race in the future. when you are considering doing a race its great to have a race report to refer to!!!!! |

Keep up the good work all of you. I will drop in from time to time. I lurk more than I post but you all have a special mentor here and I wanted to be sure you knew it. By the way, anybody who wants should join me at IMAZ in November to root MAV on - then we can sign up for next year or just have more to drink. IMAZ will be a party!!! |

![]() | ![]() chr15 - 2012-02-20 6:27 AM OK. so i've been slacking here... And I can't promise it will improve, but I don't want to bow out as you've definately given me a boost this year that I have been lacking.
I did run yesterday as I said I would, just a shame that there is this ocean in between old and new england =, esle I'd have been there in person! 5k in a rather slow 37 mins but that was what 'the plan' wanted.
I'll check back through and see how you all got on, I hope you all found it fun. Nice job Chris...you were there in spirit!!! No bowing out!!!Life has a way of getting in the way of our training. The fact that you train (fairly regularly) is better than most who sit on the couch. Never stop trying!!!! |

Yesterday was Rough; today I feel a bit better, no more bloody D; and i have learned what I should/not eat in the days before a race. I appreciate the advice about preventive Immodium and avoiding fiber, dairy & wheat, etc. I don't recall when I was last so sick. But my legs feel fine ! So the training and tapering worked |
