'ternoon Rebs. Noz, that's an awesome pic...hope you weren't handing out PowerBars. You know how those get when they freeze... ha! no, they were hersey bars. we also had run gloves (which went like crazy!) each one had a coupon for $2 off the next race of the directors and there were 20 gc and 3 pairs of shoes at a local running store. this race is so much fun. a group of college students dressed up as reindeer. i ran behind them for most of the race. i'll tell you why i had to stop in the rr. You and wifey look all cuddly like. Cute couple! |

Unless you have a nagging issue in your stroke. Then you could concentrate on a drill to correct that during the entire 100. My favorite drills are catch-up and head tap. I tend to be a little late getting my arm out of the water while I'm breathing and the head tap stops this. It also works on high elbow recovery. That 100 might be a nice opportunity to work some single-arm drills, 2 lengths per arm. The possibilities are endless Morning Pam! I have 2500 on tap today - good thing I took yesterday off Question for you - when the workout says 300 swim at T-pace, 100 drill, so 400 total What is one supposed to do for the 100 drill? thanks! Hey Pam, could you explain the head tap? I've got similar bad habits with late arm out of the water... |

I could just use some of the drills that are in the other workouts then - something like "Six/Three Swim Transition drill" would that work? my weakness tends to be to not stretch my stroke out enough thoughts?

That's why I like catch up. You have to reach long and pause. You work on extending your stroke and gliding at the same time I'll post this in Nibbins, too. I know you will see it there! |

I thought the head tap was just a special drill for Sal when he isn't swimming - best performed with pool noodles while wearing a flower bathing cap! |

Extreme Veteran 330 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Rebellious Reindeer Hello everyone! Thanks Beth! I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun being a reindeer! My name is Renee and I am 32 yo and single, with no kids, from Omaha, NE. I am brand new to the world of Triathlons and ESPECIALLY to swimming! Who am I kidding, I’m equally new to all of this, but most afraid of the swimming portion I guess! LOL! I have always wanted to do an Ironman, but just in the last month or so started seriously considering training for one. While doing some research I came across the Kansas HIM & decided to go for it! I LOVE this site so far and can’t wait to join in your challenge! I’ve just started swimming (since being a kid anyhow) 2 weeks ago. So I really need to put some time in here and I think this challenge will be perfect for providing that extra push to get it done! My December goal is to complete 540 minutes of swimming and so far I have 65 minutes logged. I look forward to getting to know all of you! GO REINDEER!!! Renee |

I didn't know they made a swim MP3 player! How cool is that? Did it work well for you? I like to swim to men in hats, or some old culture club/boy george. "Chama-chama-chama-chama-chameleon!...." (yeah, I'm pretty sure those aren't the lyrics, but hey, they've got me through many a workout...) |
