After my bike crash in July, I stopeed getting massages because my IT band and shoulder needed to heal.  Over the past two weeks I've had 2 really deep tissue massages to try to break up some of the scar tissue.  After last night's massage I have bruising all over my back and along my IT band.  I know I need to get the scar tissue broken up but I hurt more today than I did after this weekend's training.

Feeling Better today!! Had a decent run last night. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Training hard since Dec 26th. has taken its tolls But I will get a much need break in 10 days!!

Thanks for all the supportive comments and encouragement thats why I love this group!!

Are you going to take some time off after the marathon (more than just a week)?

I am off untill Thanksgiving that will be 3 weeks with NO planned workouts. Thanksgiving morning I will do a Turkey Trot or take a run with my wife!!

Dec 1st back to the Grind~~  I am going to try to pull off 2 Sub 5 HR 70.3's this coming season.

The off season focus will be all high intestity high power efforts. This last year has been a bout building a engine how this year is about making that engine faster before taking another leap into IM hopefully in 2014

1:30 on the trainer this morning.  The power went out 3 times.  Really bizarre to be sitting on the bike in the darkness like that.  LOL  I think I have a head cold.  Not surprised with the airplane travel, museums, and lines this past weekend.  Just hope it doesn't make its way to my lungs.

Off day today.  Plan on getting a good nap in too.  Woot.  Oh and my shoulders and upper back are soooo tight after all those 100s yesterday.

I have been taking it easy. After this weekend I have felt a little twinge in the groin area and it is very tight. Hoping I didn't do any damage.

I had a psoas issue last year -- not fun.  There's not much you can do for groin issues other than ice and be nice to them.

I just hope it heals enough to get me throught the marathon. Ice baths for the legs may be in order.

So this isn't public knowledge so keep it off FB, but it appears my "swimmers" are only of a single gender.

My girls like football, have the patience to sit through a baseball game, enjoy going to races, one so far seems to be athletically gifted and the other is the most loving person walking the face of the earth.  Can't ask for much more.

I don't know that I could ever handle having girls.  The risk of a girly girl is  scary.

Tell me about it.  Both of mine have girly girl tendencies.  A full on girly girl might kill me.

So a wheelset question.  Would you go 60/60 with a wheel cover or 60/90 with a wheelcover?  I'd think the 60/60 would give you more versatility, but what do I know.

I was teasing you, Scott.  I think it's wonderful.  I have 3 younger sisters, and the youngest happens to be one of my best friends in the world.  I hope your wife is able to relax and enjoy the rest of her pregnancy.

I know you were teasing.  Maybe that's more just me trying to wrap my head around more princesses, pink, puple, etc.  I hope she's able to relax too.  She's been killing me.

Scott,

What is your weight? And how windy is it where you will be racing?

60/60 is safe for sure but The 90 in the rear will be faster. I raced a 404/808 combo at LP and I rode a Hed Jet 6 and a TRI spoke in IM Flordia no problems and had no problems in the wind. Bryan Dunn rode a 808/808 in Kona granted he is a Urber-biker.

Unless there's a serious issue with wind, I would go with the 60/90 and wheelcover.

I'm 165.  Pretty sure the disc cover would live on the rear for the most part since I don't see myself racing a non disc legal race anytime soon (maybe IMCOZ, but IDK).  Not sure I ride fast enough to get a ton of benefits from the 9 in front instead of the 6.

Swim & strength this morning.  I've missed the last couple swim workouts.  It was nice to be back in the water!!  I have Saturday off, and it's date night for my husband and me.  Sunday I have a run & core work on tap.

What are you all doing this weekend?

Short run tonight, long run tomorrow, and run Sunday.  Maybe a short easy bike Sunday afternoon.

Tom is brewing another batch of beer tomorrow, and we have painters coming to paint the back of our house.

"Dinner party" Saturday night at my old bosses house.  More of a get together with some former co-workers and having a meal.

The last two mornings I've had a headache.  Yesterday my eyes were all puffy.  Today I feel yuck!  Not enough to say I'm sick, but just not great.  Hoping I feel better as the day goes on.
