I ran a little with my daughter's soccer team last night and then stretched with them. Leg feels ok this morning. I have a short run tonight then a busy Saturday with soccer pictures and games with both older ones. Then I have the Army Ten Miler Sunday morning.

15 hour days everyday this week at work, plus getting workouts in ... exhausted, sick and need a nap!  Cold-Eeze and Emergen-C are in full force.

Me too man.  My "day off" this weekend will consist of chasing my two brats around a zoo.

Maybe you can get one of those motorized scooters, that way you can stay off of your legs.

I surf around ST occasionally and saw this over there.  OMG, did you see the images of this dude?  The photos are almost disgusting.  Literally no BF at 55+.  Um, yeah right.  LOL  I read something about mirrors, too, but I didn't see any images of that.

I know doping exists at the AG level, and I think it's sad.  It's a matter of integrity, IMO.  I can sympathize with someone who succumbs to some external pressure to succeed (particularly at the Olympic level), but I still think it cheapens the effort and/or win, and I almost feel sorry for them for not getting it.

I think people have this need to feel special and extraordinary, when we are all ordinary.  When I lived in NYC, I saw celebrities on the street and in restaurants, and I never got too excited.  Just some people.   Just like you and me.  Some of us go on to do extraordinary things, but we are all basically the same, and that's how we're connected.

ST is brutal, btw.

ST can be brutal but generally there is some decent advice in the midst of a lot of ego.

Beautiful day in CT today.  Mid 60s and sunny.  I'm waiting for the fog to lift and then I have an easy bike and run, which I'll actually do outside.  Also have some new recipes to try this weekend.

Jen -- I think you'll like a few, I'll post as soon as I confirm that they work well.

Yes, please do pass them on!  I'm always looking for new recipes.  Trying to make a new vegetarian Greek stew this weekend.  We'll see how it turns out.  I love cooking!!!!

One of my friends took up running 7 months ago after she decided she was done having children.  She ran her first marathon ever today in 3:32 (F 35-39) and BQed.  I am so impressed!

Hey! Hope everyone had a great weekend! The race went as well as I could expect and maybe a little better. Weather was really nice and perfect for racing. I felt good the whole race and one of my teammates the day before said I could hit 1:20 and I kind of laughed. Well I did it, 1:20:37! I set a PR by 6 minutes! Now on to a little recovery this week before the Marine Corps Marathon. I put up a race report if you want to read.http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=465396&posts=1&start=1

Swim & strength today.  Swim workout called for various TTs.  I felt like complete monkey butt doing them, and I kept berating myself in my head for being so out of shape.  Once the workout was done, I looked over my splits, and I managed to average 1:28 or 1:27/100 yds (SCY) for all of the TTs except the last 100 all out.  Pleasantly surprised with my times.  I know they'd be faster if I were working on my swim right now, so I'm happy that I've at least maintained some swim fitness on minimal swim training (means I don't really need to swim more right now either...YAY!).
