Hey all!
Today is my SRD but will do the plank, lunge, and a walk tonight (dogs will love it).  As for the picture of me doing the plank I guess I will work on it.  During my colleges days I think someone got a picture of me doing the barnacle (lets see who picks that one up).

Tried for 26 miles on the trainer yesterday but at 20miles I gave it up as a no go.  Just too tired and no desire to spend anymore time on the trainer.

So now I was looking at Houston having an IM in Nov (sold out for this year) so may look at doing that in 2012 if IMFL doesn't work out.

Yesterday was DW's birthday.  Made her a special dinner (home made Calzone) and her BDay present was Kindle.  We read a lot of books so this is one of those useful gifts I occasionally come up with.

DAy 4 is lunges. Four with the left leg and four with the right. Walking lunges are the best as they help with extension and balance as well. Then squats, run and plank. Mmmmm. Wonder what 5 is???? 5 minutes of stretching === we all should stretch more but there it is...who out there is singing the song as they workout??? So. Five days of ssssssttttttttrrrrrrreeeeeeettttttccccccchhhhhhiiiinnnngggggg, 4 two leg lunges, three full squats, two miles running and a oooooonnnnnneeeeee minute plank...

Day 3 of challenge completed.  We did get a snow day and tomorrow is a 2 hour delay!

Wow Gary...you gave you wife a very nice birthday!  Dinner and the kindle!  I love to read...let me know how she likes the kindle.   Well it looks like I'm not the only one that wants to see the picture of you doing the plank! Laughing

Day 3 completed last night.  Had dinner with our PMI chapter at Texax de Brazil.  Doing a 1 min plank after eating there was difficult.

I am getting really good at them, see:

I have to admit I might be getting a little "board" with them.  Sorry, could not resist.

Day 6 is one leg balance. 6 total minutes. If you lose your balance don't start over. Just add your time. Use one leg or change when you topple. Stand on one foot - other leg straight (if possible) in front of you 12 or so inches off the floor ( bent leg is ok ). Arms straight out to your sides. Good luck.

Just watched Kona...ready to go!!!!  Once again I am inspired....work hard Turtles, work hard.

I am expecting to see a new post before long about training groups for 2011.  We will add some new folks in here and I want each of you to think about mentoring your own group.  That does not relieve you of your obligation here - you are stuck here for the duration but you would ALL be great mentors.  If you don't feel you are ready to do it alone, partner with someone here and do it as a team.  It is very rewarding....trust me....I am not here as much as I used to be but I have all you smart folks giving great advice so I am thrilled with where this group has gone....

We have work to do next year.....I really wanna get a great group of new people in here next year.....we had 4 Ironman finish lines this year....next year????  Who knows???

When this started I had no idea we would be here now.....YOU ALL ROCK!!!

Done for the day.  Keith (son) ran with me, sure is rewarding when your son or daughter is involved with you.  I hear you on  the mentoring, just not sure I am ready to do that yet.

Going to try to post some pictures of the new house (under construction).  Be patient with me.

Hey all!
Day 6 not done but will get it done.  Busy day with special church service and then trying to get the house ready for guests.  For yesterdays ride I tried to ride outside 15 miles later in the low 40's and gave up and did the last 21 on the trainer.  Started ordering better winter riding clothes.  Watched a good part of the Kona coverage.  Pretty good but I liked last years swim start much better.  Just got past where Craig A had finished and Mirinda was going to win for the women.  I want to do that race someday.  May be 2012 I will start trying for the lottery as I won't make it by winning my AG for another 15 yrs!

Day 8 -- 8 crunches ------ day 9 --- 9 tricep dips (google tricep dip for example). Do these with your legs as straight out as possible. No better exercise for the backs of the arms. Only days 10, 11 and 12 to go. Rock on Christmas Peeps.
