For those who are interested here's the race plan:

Swim - 1:10-1:13
Bike - 5:35 - 5:40.  155-160 watts.  Aim for an average HR of 140 bpm.  It should be easy to nail those numbers, as the course is flat.  If there's a strong headwind, then back off slightly (135 bpm), but... make sure you hammer it a bit extra in any tailwinds (145 bpm).
Run - 4:08 - 4:13 (9:30 per mile).  Aim for an average HR of 150 bpm.  If your HR gets above 155 bpm at any point in the first 20 miles, then BACK OFF and get your HR back down.

Total time - 10:59 - 11:12.

If it's windy, then those times may shift, but you get the general idea.

Good game plan!!

I love IM Florida I raced there in 2000 and wish I could get back there SUPER FAST Course!!

I went 1:09 swim, 5:19 bike, 4:06 run

WOW, if you could hit those you could qualify (obvioulsy depending on everyone else) ... that is about 15-30 minutes faster than last year!!!  I wasn't sure if you were going to be able to get in a good race since your injury ... but clearly you are going for it.

GOOD LUCK!!!  I will by cyber stalking

KQ is not possible.  Only 2 slots in F30-34.  I'd need to go below 10:40, which is not going to happen.

I'll likely have a faster bike than last year but the run will be a bit slower.  What I really want is to go 3:5X on the marathon but I'm going to be conservative.

Does the number of qualifying slots change every year?  Or is it going down per race because of races being added?

Its gone down over the past 10 years or so because of the increased number of races (it used to be 96 or 112 slots per race now its down to 50).

Haha Jeremy already itching to workout again?

So, when should I start working out again? I am sure I could do some swimming, which I need to get back into at least once  week anyway. I am hoping to do focused type workouts over the winter and just wondering what you all think of when I should start considering I am still a little sore from the mary?

I have read about that plan and heard comments that it is very hard, but you will see improvements.

Shouldn't you be resting?

Jorge's plan can be effective (its a high intensity plan, not my cup of tea, but can be really effective) you just need to look at how it fits into the overall picture and waht your goals are for 2012.

Picked up my buddy's HED 6/9 combo w/ disc cover today.  Think I have everything pulled to roll out on Saturday morning.  We're going to take family pics first thing in the morning for Christmas cards and then we're headed to the resort.  Trying to scout out options for dinner now.  Fall back is resort food which jumps from $10 sandwiches to $30 coffee crusted bison really quickly.

Correct  I am PLANNING!!

I am not a high intensity fan but I am only racing 70.3's this year so my volume will be down so I figure I can pick up intensity which will create power and spped which is realitive to 70.3 racing (TUNING THE ENGINE).  I feel that getting ready for IM LAke Placid i did not do alot of intensity work because I was worried about injury and fatigue this year I have a great starting base and hope to scaffold off of it.

The next 3 weeks are about rest and no workouts longer then 1hr. and all done at a light effort to just sustain fitness.

then its back to the grind. My wife and I are taking the next 2 weeks to plann our 2013 races and then I will back plan training programs off of my "A" races.

I will say I am itiching to run another marathon becasue i am not happy with my results (however I am smarter then that).

I haven't had cable, net, phone for the last 2 1/2 days because of the storm.  Most of Cleveland has been without power, and many still don't have it.  A tree leveled the garage at our old house (took out some storage sheds and privacy fence, too).  My kids have been home the last 2 days because the school doesn't have power.  I hope it's up and running tomorrow.  Halloween was rescheduled for Sunday.

Sorry, Karen!  I don't know if you made it to Cleveland or not, but I really wanted to meet up with you!!!

GOOD LUCK, KELLY!  Your race plan looks perfect, and I hope you nail those numbers.  You have put in the work, friend.  I will be cheering you on!  Very excited for you.

GOOD LUCK, SCOTT!  Have fun & race hard.  Don't push that bike too hard!  Down time with the family after this race, and then it's time to prepare for your first 140.6.  Kick some a$$!!!!

Thanks, Larkin.  I'm just glad we had power.  Mose people I know have gone without it for nearly 3 days.  We have been warm, well fed, and have light  It's amazing what you can accomplish without phone, net, and cable.  I have been extremely productive & I have done some really fun things with my kids.  We busted out some board games that had collected quite a bit of dust.  Made me think I need to turn it all off sometimes.  You know?  Get back to just talking to one another more and not relying on these conveniences so much.

I know I enjoy those days! We just don't get enough of them. I am waiting for soccer to be over, it overwhelms us every year. We love it but it is nice to get a break from it. BTW I just noticed you said you were in Cleveland. My sister and her husband might be moving there soon if they can get their house sold. Her husband is originally from that area. Glad you are getting some nice family time.

Good luck Kelly and Scott!! I hope you both have great races!

We have been without power for 50+ hours and just got our power back !!! Yeah!!! Jen, I agree - we had a lot of family time, board games, cards, talking - it was fun, but I am glad we got power back. Hurricane Sandy was not kind to our area - personally, we lost trees and fence and our house was spared. We were lucky. If you are watching video coverage, we live only miles from the bay and some of the barrier islands. It is so sad that so many of the icons that I grew up with are floating in the ocean now. NJ has a lot of recovering and healing to do. My daughter and I were supposed to do a race on Sat that was on the boardwalk  -the boardwalk is no longer there.

Karen - I think I read that you are considering NYC - I can meet you guys as well!

Read that yesterday.  Seems they needed more officials on the course.  If it's as blatant as it appeared I don't know how you miss that.

Medium intesity ride today with a short and light Trun afterwards.

What do you guys wear triathlon shoe (cycling) wise?  Thinking sub $200.
