That's great Josh and good to hear. I sent Grahm an inspire to see how his Half went yesterday.

Hey guys,

Josh that sounds great - be interested to hear about it.

Mine went really well for me. Swim was cut short due to the weather - splits were roughly:
Swim (750m) 15mins
Bike (94km) 3:13
Run (21km) 1:48
Finished in 5:24
Delighted with the run - a negative split by 1min.

Will do up a full race report soon when I've a bit of time. Thanks for the messages & inspires on support.

cheers Josh - actually had to miss yesterdays session as my daughter wasn't well so had to pick her up early. It was the shortest session of the week so not too much damage done! hopefully that will sort me out a bit!!

Here is a link to my blog race report if anyone is interested in reading more about the race.

Nice report Graham, and again a great race.

I have my First Olympic this weekend and am looking really forward to it. For once I feel like I have put in the work to toe the line on race day. I would liked to have been farther along, but I have been putting in the work over the last three months and feel different going into this race.

First Olympic Done!!!

2:26:22 Total Time

1500 Swim - 25:16, 1:41 per 100
22 Mile Bike - 1:06, 19.8 mph
6 Mile Run - 50:24, 8:24 per mile (I don't think this is right, I think the run was short because I've never run that pace in a stand alone 5k before) Checked later it was right at 5.4, for around 9:30 per, which is still really good for me.

Good Points of the Day:

Made it through still smiling, Never walked, First wetsuit swim went well, Beautiful Day to Race, Very pleased with my time.

Bad Points of the Day

Never practiced with wetsuit before warm-up this morning, forgot my food leaving T1 on the Bike, Forgot to take off my Helmet leaving T2 to Run (luckily a volunteer took it for me and put it with my stuff)

Biggest plus for me was that I could tell that this time I had trained for months before this event.

Thank you for the words of encourgement before the race, and Josh thanks for the call and walking me through the wetsuit issue.

Wow - super result and great splits throughout! Sounds like your training is really paying off and you're in great shape for your half.

Well done and keep it up!

It went better than I thought it would, but also told me that I have to put in more bricks and get the rides kicked up to that 50+ mile range pretty quick and continue to do at least one a week until my Half if I don't want the run to be tight or painful. My goal starting next week is to do at least one 50 mile ride and at least 1 run 6 miles or better every week until the week before my race, so about 7 weeks. I will continue to swim, bike, and run as have the weeks prior but will up them some and had in a brick workout each week. I'm lucky now because the pool is open on Sunday's so I can get in a swim / bike brick a couple times before the race as well.

Thanks for checking on me everyone. I'm not sure if everyone knows, but I own three businesses, and we are in the middle of putting up a new 5,500 sq ft shop for my sign company, plus this is our really busy season, add ironman training, and I just officiated a wedding this past weekend for some very close friends.... WOW am I busy.

So I got behind on my workout logs. I promise to fill in all the blanks of this month later this week.

Everyone please remind me as your races are getting closer. Also, because I'm not sure if everyone is continuing to check in here, please feel free to hit me on Facebook, and keep my cell phone number, so you can call or text any questions or accomplishments anytime. I pretty always have my phone, and I always like hearing from you guys. I usually answer texts right away unless I'm in the lake swimming. 260/ 243-1001

great to hear Josh - sounds like you're flat out! I'm struggling with a regular job and IM training so fair play to you!

My IM is still planned for August - training going well so far - big month volume wise next month so that'll be a big challenge.

Will look you up on facebook!

I got the logs all caught up. IM training is a life sucker... I wouldn't want it any other way, though.
