You could add Bassman, too. Just drop the B for an interesting twist!

Hee hee hee

The list is great. And if teams want to change it so it IS like say Mighty Moose for Mooseman (and therefore becomes gender neutral) they can.

Artemis - 2008-03-26 9:38 AM So I was thinking about the challenge this morning and had another idea for a theme. Since it's the first multisport challenge this year, teams could be named after some of the races. There's Mooseman - so the team could be the "Mighty Moose" or something like that. What do you guys think?
I like it...are there enough fun names? (Not up on all the cool races, sadly.)

I looked this morning and there are a ton!! Here's what I found:

Mooseman
Timberman
Vineman
Mulletman
Atomic Man
Savage Man
Mission Man
Onion Man
Elephant Man
Pineapple Man
Lavaman
Pumpkin Man

You forgot my favorite...Turtleman...

I'll add it to the list.  I got these just doing a google search for man triathlon.  I'm sure I don't have all of them.

Awesome list! And team concept how cool!

Dont forget Silverman - one of the most  brutal Im race distances out there!

Well, I sent lynnette a PM about the challenge.  She set the terms.  We'll see what happens.  If anything, I'll do that a different month.

enders_shadow - 2008-03-26 8:26 AM Hey, Jen or Cat... Am I missing something? I don't see the Mutant Peeps on the list? Maybe they're named something else?

Sorry! I might have missed them when I checked the spreadsheets last night. I logged in to google docs using the btchallenge user. What are they at? I can add them in to the update.

EDIT: I went back and found it.  The spreadsheet was named "Outer Space" which I didn't immediately connect with a challenge team.  I posted a new update.

Thanks Jen! i think you are already in challenge organiser mode!

I STILL cannot access google docs from work... not sure what is going on!

Oh and Idaho has both the VikingMan and SpudMan (don't ask, I have no clue what Vikings and Idaho have in common)

Evening NIbbs....

How's everyone doing????   I know my time here has been sparse.  Vacation is over and I'm back at work.  Stayed off of BT a little, had my eval, passed, now I can get back on BT again I suppose.

Then again, boss is out of town and I'm in charge... maybe I could just declare it a party week???

Hi Heather!

I'm in the midst of a difficult depression and terrible heartbreak, but am otherwise very excited about my first HIM Saturday!!!

So have a party week, I say. My own boss has been out much of the week, which means I've spent WAY too much time on BT.

Let the excitement take you over and motivate you.  Heartbreak huh?   Aah... his loss... you're the one doing a HIM on Saturday.  Did you ever do the dog test?  I know you're a dog person, and believe me, if a guy couldn't pass my dog, he wasn't worth it!!!!

Oh Jen...  I wish I could participate... it sounds like it's going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!!  Unfortunately, between both boys birthdays, r-ball tourney, hubby's halfmary, and vacation.... I think I'm booked.  Maybe I could set REALLY small goals.

Hmm... are time goals going to be allowed, or distance only?

Sweet!

Sad ... probably untreated clinical depression. I've been on and off medication for a few years, more recently off, but it's really probably time to get back on to it.

And the boy ... I love him so very much, and him I, and we are perfect for each other, and had a relationship beyond either of our dreams. But for many reasons, the timing/context are wrong wrong wrong. He has a lot of stuff to take care of, and fairly enough, so do I.

If the relationship has any hope, we've got to put it aside. And if (beyond belief) we manage to find people that are better suited to us, then we've truly found something incredible, and would be happy (if momentarily devastated) for the other.

Sounds like you've got great perspective on things.
I used to think that people were insane to take med's for depression.  Now that I'm older and understand the context of it all a little better, I say better to take med's than to turn to other worse addicitive cures (ie alcohol

- it sounds like it's a good idea to seek some 'real' help though - depression is not easy to work through

I'm sorry to hear that.  I know how it feels to be off anti-depressants and realize you need to go back on.

I really feel like sometimes you need to take a break in order for relationships to really work.  I hope it does work out for the two of you and you can both be happy.

Time goals are allowed (that's what I'm doing).  Two or more of bike, swim, run, and strength.  I don't think small goals would be a problem.  Anything it takes for you to be motivated and get to training.

Sounds like a busy month, though, and I would completely understand if you can't.
