rkreuser - 2008-08-31 10:03 PM Nice work, Karen. Consider that finish line milked.

She's not only an Ironman, but now a Milkman as well!

Hey, there's Jmsazboy!! Nice work, John...although I'm sure it's bittersweet becoming an ironman while the Ricardo Montalban song is playing....

I'm thinking it's around 37 mins. My watch showed 11:20, and they said that I'd missed the bike cutoff by 7 mins. So a DNF for me. Thank goodness the BTers made it a great weekend for me. I'll tell all in my race report in the next few days. Everyone else is looking good!

Sorry about that DNF...that swim sounded BRUTAL. Hang in there, and so glad you had a good experience anyway....

Way to put it out there and give it your all.

Sounds like it was a really tough day.

I just got back from a bite to eat.. had the feed going in the background..sat down and saw a finisher cross the line with a girl in the chute chatting up someone (Jonny?)...said to myself, "why isn't she crossing?!", then I realized it was Karen.  It was so awesome that I got to see her cross.  The last time we rode a 100 miler together (*the only time HA!*) she had the same smile and style at the end.

Congratulations!

OK, a bit of lousy news. Kenny's gonna DNF. He's at mile 19 waiting for medical - feet cramping so badly that he can't continue. Nothing terribly alarming, an IV or 20 should do it, but that's the story.

Wish I had better news...dammit. Way to persevere, Kenny.

so, the cut off is not 17:00?  Are they running the clock until 17 hours after the last swimmer entered the water?  And if so, if you finish within that time but over 17 are you still considered a finisher

I just want to pop in and say how impressed I am with the support around here. I'm fairly new to the site but I'm warmed by the cheering of each and every BTer on the course.

Kenny and Jen, I'm so sorry that the day didn't go as you'd hoped you you are both still heroes in my book.

Dang, I can't seem him quitting. I figured 7 miles to go he would crawl rather than quit.
