Rain rain, go away, come again another day. Was supposed to ride motorcycle to NC this Sunday and back again on Monday, but with the rain, it looks like that won't happen. Looks like the whole South has the same WET issues! Good you got in a trainer ride! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Fighting Okra - September End of Summer Challenge hi everyone. i wish i could stay and chat, but alas..... dh and i have a date night tonight. we scored free tickets to see STOMP at the Benedum here in the Burgh. were dropping off the kids at grandmas and heading to the cultural district for dinner then the show. WOOT! as for me, i was able to get in a 9 mile run. though i SERIOUSLY doubted whether id be able to do the entire distance. my little toe is STILL quite blistered and what isnt blistered is raw from the peeling skin. i told ya this was NASTY. then i had a cranky outer calf muscle from a charlie horse i got at the very end of my swim yesturday (does any one else suffer from calf cramps? OIME! they hurt like a bugger....) but icky toe and cranky calf did not deter me off i went, and what a GLORIOUS morning to run. cool. foggy. perfect running conditions for me. inspiteof the horrible beginning to the week, the icky toe, cranky calf, i cranked out a fairly decent 9 mile on pace run. i know, SHUT UP! i was pretty proud of myself. i could have come up w a million reasons NOT to do this run, to wait for a 'better' day, but you know what, the run didnt have to be 'perfect', if i ended up needing to stop or walk, who the heck cared, what was important to me was that i was out there and was getting it done.... little piggy and i did JUST FINE. and just fine is good enough. im hoping to get in a ride early in the AM and ride over to where my friend is a director of a race - she does the 'triple trot' races, a 10 miler, a 5K and a 1 miler - you can enter a single race, two or all three. isnt that fun? im gonna run the 5K as my speed work trng session. the course is flat. 2:1 intervals. we'll see how speedy my 5K will end up being. SHAZAAM! i may end up dumping the ride and saving it for Sunday if my calf is still cranky in the AM - nothing a little COLD LASER, BIOFREEZE and THE STICK isnt taking care of.....[went to the chiropractor this afternoon] have a splendid evening everyone! stacieb |

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Fighting Okra - September End of Summer Challenge Had a very depressing budget meeting with my boss this afternoon, thought I would drown out the unpleasantness with a good swim, but than a huge storm, some flash flooding and a 1/4 mile walk to the health center conspired against me... so I went and got a veggie pizza! Not sure how pizza substitutes for exercise but it sure tasted amazing! I guess I'll need to do a longer run tomorrow! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Fighting Okra - September End of Summer Challenge heading out to do a 5Krace/interval workout. this is the first time ive used a race to do speed work.... we'll see how it goes. STOMP was absolutely AMAZING, i forgot how humorous the show is, in addition to being so jaw-dropping. oh the extraordinary things you can do w ordinary objects....and the creativity and ability of the performers. YOWZA! i read in the Playbill that Cirque du Soleil is coming in January - a show i havent heard of ILLUMINATION. im super excited bout that! anywho. im off to the races! my friend is the director, and she puts on these totally fab races w lots and lots of fantastic food afterwards...cuz you know racing is ALL about the schwag and the food. LOL. HAPPY TRNG EVERYONE! stacieb |

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Fighting Okra - September End of Summer Challenge Yesterday was a total bust... well it wasn't that bad, it was a busy day and I was so sore from Friday's workout, I decided to just do a walk and a some stretching. Also one of my pups came down with a bad ear infection, so an unplanned vet visit was in order, luckily they could fit us in. And then a trip to Wally World, laundry, dishes, you all know the routine!! |
