Waiting in Dallas for connector to Cleveland. I did pack workout clothes. We will see if I get a chance to run any while I am there. Since it is an anniversary trip I am not going to push it if I don't get to.

My 2010 season has officially begun. I rode for an hour today at lunch; (I love my job.) Some guy in a beat-up low-rider pick-up yelled "Way to go, Lance!" Either I look really fast, or really old.
This weekend I've got 2 runs planned.

Good job Chad!  Probably going to be getting a visit from your foam roller by Sunday night!

Did you do your Push ups yet?  We have like 40 people playing in the challenge ... it should be a lot of fun!

JeffIrvin - 2010-03-15 7:13 AMLance and Chad in for the 100 PU Challenge!!!  It will officially start next Monday the 22nd.  This week do the fit test - which is just a one set max and report back how many PUs you were able to do.  I did mine last night and did 41 ... not gonna lie, it hurt a little!

Lance have fun in CLE.  I was just talking to my sister and she is in CLE for work and told me it was a balmy 58 degrees and sunny.  Am jealous that you are going to Canton. That would be sooo cool!

Chad - that training plan looks tight man!  Good luck and have fun! Are you going to plan your diet/nutrition out as well?
35 pushups.

I am starting out with 35. Really thought I could do more than that, but I really haven't done much since November last year. Time to get started. And Push Up challenge for me begins tomorrow.

Did my pushups this morning - Day 1 is in the books!

Did 14-18-14-14-32  ... the last few reps hurt.

My first Tri this season is only a month away.  Not to sure if my race times are going to be any good but hopefully the race pics will look good!

Did my push-ups, and that was after doing medicine ball push-ups at the trainer today.  Try a few with a medicine ball under each had (not fun) glad it is daylight savings time. I got to go out with the bike club tonight for about an hour.  Cleveland was fun but the flights back were horrible, I was delayed in cleveland because of snow in Dallas (what are the odds?) by the time we got to Dallas we had to rent a car and drive the other 2 and a half hours home so we didn't get home until 2 this morning.
Glad to be back and ready to do some training.

Sounds like you had a good trip.  I had a buddy get stuck in FL on Sunday because of the weather and then he rented a car and drove to Mobile, AL because they had a bunch of open flights??  Ended up not getting out there and just drove back to Houston ... that is a lot of time in the car!

And no way am I using a medicine ball for push ups.  They are hard enough already.  You are crazy.

The weather was awesome here too ... went to the pool for a quick 2000M and came home and ran with the wife for  5.5 mi.  It was so nice out!

Push-ups done. 10-12-7-7-12. Also bought a foam roller today, never used one before, I guess I should start training so I will have a reason. Anyone ever used one? Does anyone have a good site for exercises?

Push-ups: 25, 21, 25, 21, last set was 0. I couldn't make myself do any more. Doh!

The foam roller, hmm. We had a sports doc demonstrate the foam roller at my tri club last year. He had us  sit/lay on roller and rock back and forth, using our body weight on the roller. I think you'll need to google or look through the BT forums for more details.

I'm not going to follow the challenge as depicted on the hundredpushups site but I'll play along.  I'll just incorporate a lot more pushups into my normal workouts and shoot for 100 once a week.

I'm ready to rededicate myself to full time tri training.  I was run specific to this point for a half mary I did last weekend.  I was pacing a buddy to a 2 hour Half at the ING Georgia and we came in at 1:55 so I think we did a good job.  It's nice to run a long race without hammering down the whole time.  Our last mile pace was about 7:00 and it felt good to be fresh at the end.  Now my buddy is hooked...he wants to run a full marathon and he's borrowing my bike when I leave town in 2 weeks.  The ING is having a 2011 kickoff special, I just registered for the full Mary for only 35 bucks!

Now to get swimming and riding!

You guys are killing the push ups!  I keep getting emails from everyone in the challenge.  We have  47 people now doing it...which is like 45 more people than I though would join in.   Everyone is sore and laughing at how hard it is!

Patrick, My wife bought a foam roller about 6 months ago and I really had no idea what to think.  Then I tried it and it has been the best thing to come into my like since turkey bacon.  I foam roll at a minimum of 2 times a day.  In the beginning it will hurt ALOT.  But then you stand up and your legs and IT Band feel awesome.

I had a video posted from youtube on how to use it.  I think I posted it though because the two chicks in the video were hotties.  I'll go find it and get you the link.

Chris, welcome back the swim and run.  Sounds like you had a good time at the 1/2!

Sweet thanks. Not sure how this is gonna help me with the foam roller. All I could see were hot chicks. Laughing

2 days in a row. Push Ups. 10-12-8-8-20 Really tried on that last one. Like I told Chad this challenge is making my foam rollin' a bit more difficult. I can't hold my self up off the ground for very long. I have been rolling for 2 days now twice a day. So far it hurts, but you are right when I stand up, no pain. I think I likey. Gonna be in Houston for a soccer tourney this weekend. 2 more days two roll out all my issues. Just wish it could fix my sprained ankle. Undecided

Thanks for the invite, but no can do. If we do well I will be playing and if we suck I'll be licking my wounds on the way home. If I didn't have passengers I would have taken you up on the swim. Maybe next time.

I started the pushups program on week 5 and was able to max out the last set at 50.  Doing day 2 tomorrow morning...I feel like I'll hit a hundred after a couple of weeks.

Tomorrow I'll be hitting the lake for the first time, with my wetsuit of course.  Not sure whether to just do a little splashing or actually get on it for 30 minutes or so.  Then later in the week I'll be taking the wetsuit into the Atlantic when I visit my dad in Florida.

Just got back from an OWS with my Tri Club.  It was my first time using my new Vortex 3 wetsuit.  I am not a good swimmer and this was my first time ever in a wetsuit.  We started out from a dock in the river and right into a 20mph wind AND into the current.  We did the first 1/2 mi and I felt like I had swam 2 miles ... lol.  Then the swim back was awesome.  I had never swim so fast!!!  First off the wetsuit was amazing. The water temperature was 65 degrees and the suit kept me very comfortable (my face was freezing).  Then the buoyancy was just as good as I hoped.  We did a mile and I could have easily did the entire swim again.  I cannot wait for my April 24th Oly Tri.  It is in the ocean I was very nervous about the swim, now I am looking forward to it!!!
