ironannekidd - 2010-02-20 12:53 PM Good afternoon all!

Sounds like some of you are having a great day!!!

I got a short swim in today, 750 meters. My cool down was going over to the warm water pool to swim with the kids a bit before I went and lifted weights.

In a perfect world I would have gotten out to run when I got home, it's 40 here today, which isn't bad for us right now. Instead I checked my email on the way home from the Y and I am at work now

Hopefully I won't be here long and I can still get a run in when I get home. If not I'll jump on the trainer and run tomorrow morning.

Kim - I've seen a few shows on Broadway. I have always wanted to take my kids to see The Lion King, it just has never worked out.

Are we all meeting at Robin's first then heading to Neal's? It doesn't matter to me, I'll bring pizza and wine.

Ann, definitely take your kids to see The Lion King.  They will love it and remember it forever.

I vote for starting with the mud wrestling at Robin's.  Then off to Neal's clean apartment for wine and pizza.

We saw a short version of Finding Nemo on stage when we were at Disney a little over a year ago. My kids LOVED it. I think they would enjoy The Lion King, too.

I have a nephew that lives in NYC. We took my son up almost 2 years ago to tour the city. We walked forever, he was such a trooper, but he had a good time.

I agree with starting at Robin's then making our way to Neal's.

givemashot - 2010-02-20 9:33 AM Hi Gouhlies. I ran and swam a little this morning. Not a ton, but enough to be able to say I got my hind end out there and did it. The kids were fine (home alone) while I was gone, and the house is still standing, so...quite the successful morning if I do say so myself. My new bike will be here Wednesday. Yay! I probably won't get it put together until the next week, though, when hubby gets back from his next trip. Unless I decide to take it to the LBS and pay them to do it. Hmmmm.

Are you and the hubby going to get fitted at a shop or are you going to do that at home? And good luck holding off on the assembly. If you can leave it there in the box you have infinitely greater will power than I do!

ceilidh - 2010-02-20 7:24 AM What that means is the lake has been lowered for a few months this winter so people can work on boat houses, etc. they do this every 3-4 years. We have no boat house but because we are at the beginning of the lake- more on the river- we get a lot of branches and things lodged on the shore- 3-4 years worth. So, we get to put on boots and slog through the mud and try to remove all this stuff. It usually results in a couple of face plants. The mud is pure black so it is hugely funny... the first time. Come on down and we'll have a really good Ghoulie pile.

Tomorrow is going to be even better. Same thing is on. Food will be supplied (and drinks of course).
We want pics after a face plant.

deehtz - 2010-02-19 7:48 PM Hi everyone!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I had the afternoon off.  It is blue skies and 60*F.  So I went for 1 1/2 hour bike ride... some hills in the countryside and then flats in the residential area.  Beautiful afternoon!

Now to shower and then go out to eat!  Have a good evening!

Nice.  Oooohh to have 60*F....typed ever so wistfully.

Keeping.... mouth.... shut...... about..... temps.....

If it makes you feel any better, it's raining today and my morning ride got vetoed because of the road conditions. It's probably for the best though. I trust myself if the pavement is a little slick, but NOT the cars.

We're planning out this afternoon to have our "anniversary" time together so hopefully it's nice by then.

kcarroll - 2010-02-20 11:33 AM Speaking of the city, I'm not a huge Broadway fan but I do go to the occasional show.  Usually when I have out of town visitors.  No telling how many times I've seen Lion King.

But 2 new shows are opening that caught my attention.  The first is An American Idiot with all the music from Greenday. The second is The Munsters: The Musical with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth.  I loved that show as a kid.  And Nathan Lane is hysterical.  I just might have to get tickets to both.

Both those shows sound pretty cool.

Ghoulie Mud Wrestling? Sounds like a blast!

Are you just going to watch, or are you going to participate?

I couldn't possibly be around a bunch of mud and NOT participate. Count me in!

kcarroll - 2010-02-20 9:29 AM Hope everyone is having a spectacular Saturday.  I ran 5 1/2 with a friend this morning.  Best part is her DH made us breakfast when we got back.  The weather is great for NJ in Feb.  41*.  I have to go to a baby shower this afternoon but am not planning on staying long.  It's in Jersey City, which is just across the river from NYC.  So rather than come home and hibernate as planned, I'm going to head into the city.  Just spoke to a friend who lives in Brooklyn and we're going to meet for drinks and dinner.  Good times.

Nice run this morning! What was for breakfast? Also, have a good time hanging out in the city. I still haven't been able to visit New York but I hope to someday.

B'fast was terrific.  Nothing fancy.  Eggs your way (mine were scrambled with a bit of feta), whole wheat toast.   Lis had a fried egg, bacon and cheese sandwich.   Best part was having someone else making and serving it while we sat sipping coffee and icing our knees. Tongue out  Her hubby is a sweetheart.

With the amount of wine it sounds like you Ghouls will be bringing it might be a recovery MONTH. Not that that would be a bad thing. Besides, we could get at least ONE group ride/run done so we can feel productive, so it'll all balance out.

ironannekidd - 2010-02-20 12:53 PM Good afternoon all!

What happened to the pole dancing?

I hope someone's keeping a checklist. We've got enough ideas floating around to party for a solid week!

Wouldn't that be AWESOME??!!??!! We'd all need a recovery week afterward!

With the amount of wine it sounds like you Ghouls will be bringing it might be a recovery MONTH. Not that that would be a bad thing. Besides, we could get at least ONE group ride/run done so we can feel productive, so it'll all balance out.

We'll have to start out with the group ride/run because i think our bodies will all be going downhill after that.

Can I bring vodka instead of wine?

As long as I can bring the rest of the ingredients for Bloody Mary's! We should probably have tequila on hand for Margaritas as well. And Kahlua for White Russians. And rum for Mai Tais. This is gonna hurt...

And good call on getting any "training" out of the way early. That's probably smart...

Yeah, me too.  I think I have maybe 12 drinks a year so the bottle lasts a long time in my house.

Is it a bad thing that I already have at least 1 bottle of all of those at home?
