wgraves7582 - 2010-03-05 2:38 PMAny other exciting plans this weekend?

Got another call from my mother. The rest of the family won't be able to come by until later so they are moving things back a little. Looks like I will have time for both my run and ride (and to pay some bills) before we leave.

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-05 2:38 PMMy plan is to be on the bike at 10:00am - ride to the meeting - ride home and then go for a swim while wife is out with family for parents anniversary dinner.

Not a happy time when we have to get together with the in-laws. My FIL is wanting to have a "meeting" which usually isn't a good sign. He wants to have it the weekend of my anniversary, my SIL anniversary, and BIL birthday. Not good timing. He won't have it later because it will be "too late." He used to be a pretty cool guy but I think he's going a little senile. He's also turning into a grumpy old man that no one wants to be around.

pdbman - 2010-03-05 4:48 PM Son is off visiting a college today. He has several options and can't decide which one to go to. He's going to spend time visiting cousins that are going to various schools. Hopefully it will help him decide which one to go to. We know which one we would like him to go to. Its the best of his different options and is also the cheapest.
So my wife and I have the house all to ourselves tonight. Hmmm..... What should we do? Empty house all to ourselves....... The possibilities.....

Too many times that has ended up in early bedtimes   Guess I am getting old huh?

Yeah, I'm hoping for an early bedtime.

pdbman - 2010-03-05 1:23 PM Hey Bill. You might need to boost your posting goal for this month again. You're almost there and its only five days into the month.

Yes I will scare the other team and leave it at 8500 and go to 150% or something crazy like that
well, to be fair you should set your goal as the increase you hope to make in you're post count.  I am not sure where you started this month, but it was at least more than 7000.  From day one you were more than 75% of the way to reaching that goal.

brick94513 - 2010-03-05 4:19 PM Wow!  Go way for a few hours and I fall three pages behind!

2,500 swim this morning; going back for another 2,500 after I pick the kiddos up from school.  Looks like the rain is going to part for a little in the morning, so I'm most likely slated to race.  It will be a quicky with a 2 mile run-12 mile bike-2 mile run.  My oldest boy is going to do the juniors.  Should be some quality time.

Melissa-better stop padding posts and get back in the water!  Oh, and I'll pass on the 10k swim.Wink

The guy that is doing 5K is passing on the 10K????  Strange but what is another 5 on top of the 5 you already did?????

Great job today and good luck tomorrow - have fun with the son!
the 10k swim was offhandedly suggested to me by one of my mentor groupies.  It is to be done in a single workout.  A 10k in the pool equates to 10,940 yards or 219 laps.

Wow...I never thought about it in laps...that would be a kick-butt workout!
The fastest I could pull that off is 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Looks like you have a busy season. Makes me look lazy. Well, I guess I do a pretty good job of that all on my own.

That's a busy season.  You have a lot of running races.  Is that your background?

The only way I could see myself doing that is if it was part of a bet and there was money on the line.  That or I lose enough sanity to consider trying a triple ironman.

pdbman - 2010-03-05 1:20 PM So what is our question of the day going to be today?

How about what time do you consider sleeping in?

Me - 7:00am no matter what time I go to bed!

Considering I'm up at 5 during the week, 7 is sleeping in to me too.

Of course I get really screwed up if I pretend I'm in college again and go out till 2am.  That will throw off my sleeping patterns for days no matter how many naps I take.

pdbman - 2010-03-05 12:54 PM Bill-I like the change from dorkface to muck raker. I went lurking to the east for a minute to see what was going on and saw that little exchange.

I was rather fond of dorkface.  It will take a little while to get used to muck raker

Apparently a few more.  Let's see today's workout consisted of a 2800yd continuous swim.  Felt good and strong throughout and didn't fade towards the end like I sometimes do.
