Subject: RE: Bike it to the MAX in June Ghoulies!!!This has not been a good week for me on my bike. Wednesday's ride was shortened by about 10 miles because of mechanical issues. Today's ride was shortened by about 30 miles because of injury. I was about 8.83 miles into a ride I was hoping to get near 40 miles on. It was early in the ride, my legs felt good, so I tried to push it on a hill, this was about the 6th or 7th hill of the morning and after this things would have flattened out a bit. I was pushing it in a gear that made me get out of the saddle and I just didn't have enough in me. I started really wobbling the bike back and forth, and before I knew it I was going down. I didn't want to hit with my feet still clipped in, so somehow I managed to get them out, so technically I didn't fall. I did tear up my ankle, and twinge it a bit. Here's a pic of right afterward. By the time I got home the whole top of my sock was soaked in blood. They were brand new socks, too. I love a good pair of crisp white socks, it's one of my favorite things. Now I lost that pair. I walked about 1.2 miles before my ride came. I was only about 2.5 miles from home because of the loop I do.
