A counsin just posted on Facebook that Jim's dad is in the process of passing away. First: he hasn't, Second, we haven't gotten to contact all those who need to know. Third: Ya think that would be the duty of the next of kin to notify folks. Crap a general announcement on Facebook is just disrepsctful, tacky and rude. This is also the person who reamed her son out for making an announcement on facebook that he was engaged before he personaly called all (and I mean all) of the relatives. Crap- people are unthinking. Some times and some people are just thoughtless. Technology has enabled them to broadcast their pinheadeness to the universe. Deep breaths. And sorry to hear that Jim's dad is not doing well. Hugs sent your way. Thanks. (((Deeeeeaaaappppp BREATH))))) It is just a matter of time now. It could be minutes, days or weeks. Hard enough by itself. we haven't even been able to get a hold of our kids. One is on a remote island in Wisconsin where there is one phone for the island and spotty cell service. The other is rock climbing/camping with cell turned off. {{{{Deep BREATH}}}} I think I am going to run away to the u-pick farm and pick some veggies.
That sounds like a very good idea Robin. I am hanging in the kitchen this morning. Making Barefoot Contessa Lemon Chicken and a Tomato/Spinach/Mozzerella pie. Both for a friend who's going through a tough time right now. I just de-boned the chicken breasts and am cooking the scraps for Max. He is beyond insanely happy. Chicken does NOT happen in this kitchen very often. I have to turn off my veggie, now almost vegan, brain for a bit. Once everything is put together and ready for the oven am going to sneak off for a bike. It may have to be on the drainer cause I hear thunder rumbles. My doggie is jealous. The few times I have cooked meat, she has posted a sign in the window begging to be adopted by meat-eaters The zen of cooking... enjoy. Have a safe ride, either inside or out. Could you text me about the Princesses' progress? Thanks. Will do. IM Live isn't posting bike splits, so it's going to be 112 miles until I have an update. |

Saturday morning - make breakfast for 5 a little bit grumpy girls who didn't get a whole lot of sleep the night before Saturday midday - after the guests were gone, feed my kids then take a nap Saturday night - go hike up a very steep hill to sit in the woods for SAR training. We were back to my friend's house around midnight, which was early for night training, it was just too hot for the dogs to work. Crashed at their house then. Sunday morning - wake up a little after 8, make up home around 11. Played with the pups, waited for the kids to get home, then took a shower. I STANK! Took a nap after lunch. In the afternoon I took both kiddos and 3 dogs to the canine spa for the pups to swim. When we got there, there were already a few other people there. We walked in and someone said "look, another Dane". I looked up and there was a big black Great Dane with a white blotch on her chest. She liked to swim, which was fun to watch. I was talking to the owner and it turns out that she is Milo's sister. She was one of the last pups taken from the litter. She and Milo have a lot in common, but it sounds like she has destroyed a whole lot more than Milo has. I took a few pictures, then let my niece know when we got home that I saw her and that she was doing well. Sunday night - had dinner, crashed on my recliner, everyone went to bed early. |
