No big plans for me this weekend (that I know of).  I need to get in some good runs.  Maybe go for a 10-11 miler tomorrow or Sunday.  Can't wait for it to warm up and the daylight savings to change so I can have after work runs/rides etc.  Maybe this weekend I should come up with some kind of nutrition plan.  I know my eating habits need some serious work.

Time change will be a huge motivator for me. I get depressed during the winter.

Nice race Philip!  How were those last 3 miles?  In my last half I wanted to get to mile 10 and pick it up a little but just didn't have it in me.

11 and 12 were a little tough, but I always plan to run the last leg of anything hard, and I did today

I sprinted to the finish, and they called my name and hometown, it was great! The race was also sold out!

Hope everyone is doing well in their training.

I am hoping to have a good increase in volume this week with recovery next week. I need three more days with good runs over 5 miles each and two more days of biking at least 1.5 hours each.

Hard for me to believe that I am actually excited about running 20 miles a week these days.

I think I'll swim a little, run a little and bike some, so original I know!  Actually, I'll be gettng a swim consultation tomorrow from a coach.  He's supposed to have a CD for me with my swim video coverage (It's not going to be pretty Cry).  Eventually I'll take a look at a HIM plan to get an idea of what my workouts shoud look like.  I bought an aero helmet, that Giro deal for $75, I can't believe I did that.  I also got a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10's on Ebay for $30, size 13B!  They were hardly used, love it when I can get $100 shoes for 30 bucks.  Also got 10 pack of Conti GP 4000S tires for $40 a tire.  That's a sweet deal, those tires rock!

Hope everyone's training is on track, stay healthy and happy Valentine's day!

That swim consultation will be the best investment you make all season

Totally jealous of your awesome deals! I got some closeout 2011 gear from Rev3 in the mail, and I got a deal on a used Zeo Sleep Manager. I tried it out last night! The coolest feature is you set an alarm, set a range before the alarm (5-30 minutes) and it will wake you up when it senses you're in a very light sleep during that time. I am NOT a morning person, but I found this a pretty pleasant way to wake up today. We'll see if that sticks around

First words GO GET FIT!!!!

I wish I would have done this a long time ago.   I went with the RETUL fit because they are the only one that can fit and measure while you ride.

First I got set with sensors and did a warm up ride just to check everything was working right.    Then Mark had me to a two rides and and different power levels.  This checked overall body to bike position and leg tracking to see how ankles, knees, shoulders and arms tracked.      I sucked the first go around.

Then we moved my seat up about 2CM to get extension in hips and legs right.    I rode again at the power levels and checked leg tracking.    Once this was set we looked at upper body placement.  I was to far forward and strecthed out.   We shortened the stem length and moved my seat slightly.   Now my placement was good.   This also flattened my back out drastically changing areodynamics.

We did some measurments and flexibility tests and found my right leg was 4 mm longer than my left.   We shimmed my shoes to get an even balance and then did the power meter tests again.   i was producing more power at the same gear and same cadience from the first ride.

I will upload all my angle data later tonight, and see if I can get the leg tracking images up[ so you can see the changes.    I also could not stand it and took a short ride and was amazed at how much more comfortable my bike was.   It was well worth the time and money.   It took about 2 1/2 hours and cost about 250 with the bike adjustments and fitting fee.

So glad you've had a great fit!!

I got "fit" by a cycling friend when I got my current tri bike. I bought the bike from a friend who was about the same size as me. I rode with that fit for a while. I then posted pics and videos here (VERY useful!) and learned that my bike is too big for me. My seat is as far forward as possible, my stem is as low as possible... but the top tube is just too long.

My tri team has two bike sponsors, Blue and Argon18. I'm eyeing a Blue. I will get measured/fit to find my stack and reach before I purchase the bike. Then, I'm going to get a full fit.

If I don't get a new bike, I will see if I can get a cockpit that can be adjusted a little more to get a better fit out of my current bike.
