Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #197: We CAN be polite, TANk u very much! I have a question for yuz that may know about school. I have wondered this on several occasions. Can you retake classes just for the fun of it in college? Maybe if I was more specific. I passed all of my engineering classes (obviously). Could I just take a statics or soils or structural class again just for kicks? What about getting a civil engineering degree AGAIN. Possible? (not that I would). I'm just thinking if I wanted to get into more structural engineering, to retake some classes for refreshers. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #197: We CAN be polite, TANk u very much! Another odd observations. Remember the days when sequels were sort of odd? I remember when Rocky III came out, it was the joke of the late night talk shows and they would poke fun that there would be a rocky 8 or something... Fast forward 20 years. Fast and Furious 6, 7 rockies, 5 Final Destinations, 5-6 Saws, dozens of Friday the 13's and Freddies.
Seems if you DON'T put out 7-8 movies, you are doing it wrong. Lincoln 8 - The Lincolnator? Edited by Kido 2013-03-26 11:09 AM |

I don't know here either but most of what HW puts out is meh anyway so why not put out multiple versions of meh.

Yeah, I'm thinking you could pay to take the class but your grade would be unofficial. Observing. Otherwise you could be upsetting the curve and all that. |

Yeah, I'm thinking you could pay to take the class but your grade would be unofficial. Observing. Otherwise you could be upsetting the curve and all that. You could always audit the course as well.

Expert 2122 Next to a big lake | Subject: RE: TAN #197: We CAN be polite, TANk u very much! Gah! Just finisned grading. If I highlighted the correct answers some would still get questions wrong. I checked the questions where most got it wrong but then I read the topic sentence of a paragraph under a heading that is a direct quote of the answer and one of the key learning outcomes of the chapter. ie.: textbook: North American Mamals, question: what is the main subject of your text book?

Get to a quiet room and close the door. Do not have interruptions. Quit brushing up 30 minutes before hand. If you haven't seen it by then, it wont help you today. Have questions ready. Even if those get covered, use your questions as clarification and review them. Relax; all is well. |

Yeah, I'm thinking you could pay to take the class but your grade would be unofficial. Observing. Otherwise you could be upsetting the curve and all that. I went back for a late life PhD. So I took the classes for credit. None that I took were very close to anything I had ever taken before, but I had a lifetime of lab and development experience that was applicable. A few professors said they did not consider my grade with the other students. Doing it for fun would be expensive. I got the tuition waived since I was working as a research assistant. If I had paid normal tuition, it would have been $1500 per semester hour. Go for the master's or the PhD if you are really looking for a mental challenge. I found the classes fun and easy. The dissertation was as hard as I chose to make it. I am an idiot about stuff like that so it nearly killed me. TW |

This is what I was thinking, no WAY would I pay college rates without going for a degree. Find seminars and workshops to attend, then generally your employer will pay them! I like doing that! |
