Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Pack of Werewolves Team Thread (TAN) LowcountryTRI - 2007-10-04 6:43 PM Don't know your name... D001. But you're welcome to come by and post any time... or lurk. Oh and the part about nothing is, well... right. This month, you can call me Twinkie. *sigh* The losing teams in the September Swim/Bike Challenge had to change their avatars to Twinkies. So here I am. That was my first challenge. This is my second. But I've learned the importance of the team. Last month, I met my goals. But some of my teamates didn't. Hence, I achieved Twinkiedom. (It could have been worse.) Twinkiehood aside, I surprised myself with the amount of swimming and biking that I managed to do. (Even though it felt like my arms and legs were going to fall off.) And I really enjoyed the Challenge. Running is a different matter. I've never run before. (Can you say "Newbie?" So I'm doing mostly fast walking, alternating with some jogging. My goal for the month is tiny, a mere 10 miles. (Yep, most of you can do more than that in a single day.) But hopefully I'll be able to do more jogging and less walking as the month progresses. So that's my goal. Oh, and I want to do my first Sprint Tri by next Spring. That's my main goal. And if next month, I need to replace my Twinkie avatar with a leg/foot photo (shudder), well, that's ok. (I think.).... But you never know - maybe my team will pull through, and YOU guys will be the ones with the icky penalty avatars. Yes, I'm an optimist. And for me, that would be a "happy ending." Going to go walk/jog now. (Although I still wish this was a swim challenge. I LIKE swimming. I could do swim challenges every month!)

Now spokesy... this is meant to be a challenge after all.... and yuo know how I feel about sandbagging in challenges :p |

Oh, and Twinkie, welcome, feel free to take away whatever you can from this. If you enjoy it, go see the Thread About Nothing 10. That's the other home. There's some advice there, too. Although it's harder to find. |
