Corporal Quotes, I swam this morning then did a short bike/run in the neighborhood to burn off some frustration with the swim coach.  Therefore my "brick" was more of a tri and my next official goal is to get some of the housework done.  Hope to ge to Pilates class tomorrow night, I haven't been to Nijah's class in a long time

Hey gang, we're really at a low percentage of those goals.  I know w all have issues related to ou health/families/jobs going on so let's get motivated and MOVING in a forward progression towards those goals.

AH HA HA HA ... I knew you couldn't resist doing it Doberman-style for long.

BTW General Bunny (and I'll PM you, too) I arranged with Dee to alter my swim goals 8-9 days ago. The change is reflected on the new spreadsheet she posted in this thread, but you may still be working off the old one.

By the way, the double or brick workouts is an issuance by Greg, Master Sergeant Mission Impossible.

So Fresh So Clean - 2007-11-12 6:31 PM

As the minister of impossible missions, I have the following file:

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to do a double or a brick within the next week. (That means two workouts in one day). I will do my next Wednesday, but you can plan yours whenever.

This message will self destruct in 5, 4, 3...

Hmmm, this might be tough for me. I'm going out of town Friday for work and will be super busy with that all weekend. I'm not sure I really have time to do bricks during the week

I got your message, Yanti. I've updated the spreadsheet with your revised goal and I'm posting here.

I'll be doing a double today. I did some weight training this morning and I'll be going out for a walk/run tonight after work.

Terri - that gym sounds awesome! Too bad I don't live closer because I'd love to be your workout buddy.

Darn, Terri, that stinks about DH!

If I lived closer than the opposite side of the country I'd join that gym too!

Looks like my "banish ITBS" goal will have to wait til next month - today I saw my ortho again (since the cortisone shot we tried 2 weeks ago didn't even take the edge off my constant knee/ITB pain) and long story very short, we scheduled surgery for Dec. 14th.

So I wouldn't count on any bricks or doubles for me this week or next, unless swimming & yoga or swimming & walking the dog count...

Yep it does, but that's a long way off (for now) and I'm trying to not think about it other than that I need to start looking for a training partner Out of mind....out of mind, ya know!

As patrol dog who looks at the boundaries, I say they count. Active workout + recovery workout = double.

Oooh, if we can count gym workouts towards the doubles then I am good to go. I got one in yesterday, I'm doing another today, and I expect tomorrow and Thursday to do them yet again! After that my training is going to drop off for most of the rest of the month though. Leaving to go out of town on Friday for work, won't get back until late Sunday, then heading home for Thanksgiving on Tuesday or Wednesday and won't get back from that until the next Sunday, plus I will probably be eating quite poorly. I can probably get a run or two in while I am traveling but I won't have my bike or my gym I need to make sure I do some really hard intense workouts in the day or two between trips!

Sorry I haven't been around much but I'm always playing catch up with this thread! I've recently become the "research tech/grad student/post-doc/collaborator" of the lab I work in - everyone else has quit very recently (not because of me , my boss has....issues) leaving me with about 12 million things to do.

MrsUSMC, just to remind you, I'm close! I'd definitely be up for a bike ride, swim, or run whenever you need a workout buddy.

Yup, I know exactly what you mean.

In other news, team, I added another 1700 yards to my swim total this morning, bringing me to 12,150 yards for the month. I'll hit my 15,000 goal easy! I also discovered I'm just 9,470 yards from hitting 100,000 total swimming yards for the year, which is awesome considering I just started swimming seriously in May. My run total for the year may be FAR from what I had hoped thanks to my stupid knee, but I think I'm more proud of myself for becoming a triathlete and kicking @ss in the other training areas I'm able to.

So, hmm...that gives me an idea. We already know what Yanti's got to be HUGELY proud of herself for, but what is everyone else proud of themselves for accomplishing (tri or not tri-related) so far this year?

Betsy, I'm embarrassed to say I forgot you were in my area

I did my core training and swam last night and ran this morning. This afternoon if things go the way I've planned I should get on the bike and do core again tonight. Ibuprofen is my new best friend, as is sleep deprivation

That is totally awesome! You swim girl!

What am I proud of? I'm proud for just getting out there and doing something. I haven't been athletic since high school (30 years ago). This is totally not like me and I constantly have people asking me am I still trying to run since they know it's not like me. My (former Marine) dad is extremely proud and will call me to check up on me, in a positive way. My youngest sister thinks it's cool that I'm training to do a triathlon. She could have been my twin if she were born 13 years earlier. I've really changed my lifestyle.

Changing a lifestyle is the hardest of all--a truly amazing difference! Congrats, MrsUSMC!

And so much swim yardage for runnerg1rl ... great job! Tough to get over injuries, that's the heart of a true multisport athlete--you doggedly pursue other things you CAN improve in.
