SSMinnow - 2012-10-09 8:39 PM Dino, is this you?  I thought this was pretty cool!

No that's me in disguise.  My Doug keeps saying I need to race cross to improve my bike handling skills but what he doesn't realize is I make promotion videos for Pinarello on the side!!

Good Morning!!  It's been quite a week, with racers getting it done in fine fashion,  someone sandbagging, someone celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary and a lot of us sitting around wondering what's next!  So.....who's planning to hit the line this weekend? Do tell!

And for slackers, we have a little over 2 months before we end '12.  What's the one thing you'd still like to accomplish this year?

I'd like to finish my first Ironman. I've getting supper nervous. 10 more days until I drop my bike off for Tri-bike transport.

Tiana

Fantastic Goal!!!!!!

My goal is to survive running my 1/2 marathon on Nov 11.

As well, I am teaching a learn to run clinic through a local running store starting end of month. Their goal is to run a 5k on Dec 31. LOVE to get them motivated, and hope in turn it fires me up a bit. MY goal not only for the next twp months, but for this winter is to run. run, run, run.

My main goal is to lose 12 more pounds before the new year. I'd like to make it 20 before getting really into races next year.I'm not sure I'm racing again this year. I didn't sign up for anything because I was waiting to see if I got a job. Now that I have one and know I won't be working that day, the race I wanted to do is full. I'm on the waiting list and am keeping an ear out for anyone selling a bib, but if I don't get in, that's just the way it's meant to be this year.

OK, the time for feeling sorry for myself is over and I'm looking forward to finishing this year on a high note. Lots of changes at home this last month and with the new school/work schedule I'm having a difficult time carving out me time.  And, all the house projects I had put on hold during IM training have come back to bite me, sucking up all my free time. Annoying.  I need to be more creative and get myself a treadmill.

Anyway... the one thing I'd still like to accomplish this year? Take that gun handling/shooting class.

This weekend will be my last week of taper and I cannot wait for the marathon on the 21st! Mostly
because I want to FINALLY stop running and give my feet a break (and call myself a marathoner, too). My feet have had lots of ups and downs the past month – the long runs are torture and my feet will hurt for days after, but the short runs are no problem. My goal was to really focus on recovery during this taper period – lots of icing on a water bottle, golf ball massages and strassburg sock. I’m allergic to NSAIDS so I can’t take any sort of anti-inflammatory. My taper volume has been pretty low so my head is all over the place. I hope I’m balancing between doing enough to keep fresh and not doing too much to get injured.

Rest of 2012 I want to get healthy and lose some weight (although I dont know how I will do that with not running and with the holidays!). I also want to get back in the pool and work on drills.

Add me to the sitting around wondering what to do next group.  I have no solid plans, except to spend the next week touring New England.  I will regroup when I return.  Just trying to hold steady and get used to eating "winter rations".

As for something to accomplish before the end of the year.........  I've got nothing.  Right now, I just need some rest.  Getting up at 4:45 am gets old really fast.  Here's something--I want to spend some time trail running just for the fun of it Laughing

YAWWWWWWNNNNNNN...... this fallacy again..

8 of our 27 rings came after steinbrenner bought the club from cbs

11 of the pennants as well. and of course you'll keep in mind that most of these were prior to the playoff expansion in 69 and 94, you know, when it was much more difficult to make the playoffs, unlike the scham of today's game.

family has been a season ticket holder since cbs,

...so get your facts straight... and shove it.

and you never showed us fat linda pics... c'mon man... trev has been drooling over this for months.

Lots of interesting plans for the next few months.  I like reading everyone's goals!

No one brought this up so I will.  LANCE.  I'm very disappointed.  Paul says I am the glass half full girl on too many things.  Boo-Hoo.  I wanted so much to have him be clean.

I know what you mean but this ankle tendonitis hasn't really gone yet and I'd feel like an idiot if I flared it up badly just to get through a mini-sprint.

Once Noosa's done all my focus will be on the IM and I'll be scheduling a few events along the way to push me. Also, I've been rostered on for a patrol at the beach now.
