Just realized that i was the 4000th post on this thread, how cool is that?  Ran 4 miles with my son today, thought I was going to die, never could get my breathing right.

Here some pictures of my Christmas present from my wife.

Here's our profile for new members for next year....we will do it the same way as last year....I will pick the folks in the new forums....then bring them over here when we close it down....if you want to go say something to add to our attractiveness, I will let you know when our ad goes live....then you can fire away over there too......oooooohhhhh I love seeing new peeps in the group....

Name:  Left.right.repeat aka Bryan

Story:  This is my fourth year as a mentor.  My group will be a little different from many of them on here and I want to explain how.  I have a couple of folks from my first group, a couple from my second group, several from my third year and then we will be adding those of you who might be interested.  The group is male and female, evenly divided, from Canada and Boston to Louisiana and Texas.  All middle aged (don't tell them I said that)....my 50 year mid life crisis in 2009 was my first Ironman - I finished IM Arizona in November.  Two of our 2010 members did IM Louisville and one of our other members completed IM Arizona in 2010 but don't let that intimidate you...several just did their first sprint in 2009 or 2010.  We are a welcoming group that is looking to add some new blood and excitement.  Join this group and benefit from several wicked smart mentors.  So if you are looking for experienced Ironman finishers in your group, we may be for you.  If you are just starting in the sport, we are a fun welcoming group evenly divided between men and women and we are ALL a lot of fun.  FYI, there are two female IM finishers and two male IM finishers - we don't discriminate.

Family: Married with an adult daughter

Current Training/2011 Races:  Half Marathon, Olympic triathlon, Half Ironman, Ironman Arizona and other epic endurance events.

2009 Races:  Houston Marathon, CapTexTri, Austin Triathlon, Prairieman HIM, Ironman Arizona and several other events.

2010 Races:  Disney half marathon, America's Run half, Texas Independence Relay (203 miles), CapTexTri, Austin Triathlon, LiveStrong Challenge, Tour de Cure, Ironman Florida and a few others.

Weightloss: 46 pounds in less than 36 months

What makes me a good mentor:  The other people in the group....LOL....we have fun.  Seriously, we have history.  Once you are in the group and we close it, we will move you all to our base group where there are over 200 pages of posts equalling over 4000 messages which you will want to read....there's history in there and a TON of answers to your questions.

So, fire away, all questions are appropriate and will be answered....come join us....tell me who you are and why you want to join our team.

Bryan

Hey Billy...wonder who that was!  lol  I am sure they are glad you liked the card!

WOW!!  Awesome gifts from your wife!!  I love the way she had those framed!  I agree with Bryan..."Build that woman a house!"

Bryan...the profile for the new group looks great!

I am on a running streak right now.  Since we started our 12 days of Christmas I have been running everyday!  I even went skiing all day today then after I got home I went out just for a short 1 miler at 11:15...just to continue my streak...craziness I guess. Laughing

I'm back from MIA I lost 3 weeks on a stupid wisdom tooth gone awry (extensive extraction, infection, lots of vicodin, fuzzy..) and then my 4 year old turned 5, which equals 3 cakes, 1 party, stuff for 2 preschools and one daycare.. you get the picture. And then for 2 more weeks, I was having a hard time getting focused on working out. total laziness. Back now!!! I restarted P90X and will start running this week again. Signing up for Racine 70.3 in the next couple of days

Sorry I missed the 12 days of Christmas, but I'm back now!

Hey all!
Just swinging by.  Working a few more hours than off until Monday.  Training is going well, running is ramping up nicely.  Now up to 5 miles (will hold it there for awhile).  Bryan, very cool about opening up the group.  Should be fun.  Looks like I am installing hardwood flooring in the master bedroom during my vacation.  Not quite a house but a big enough project for me.

Billy - very nice display!

Lena - You need to start the 12 days now!  Actually I keep meaning to restart it but haven't found time.  Oh, havent you heard?  34 is the new middle age!

Amy - Nice running streak or is it streaking run?  If its the latter pics would be welcome!

Mav - you will make a great mentor!

Good idea about the 12 days now, i will do it!

Good for you for making your wife happy and installing new floors Good man!

Had to laugh about the streaking run...that would be fun, but Amy would be very cold heheheee

Impressive gift Billy.  I agree, you need to build your wife a new house with a huge walk in closet that is all hers.  Money mouth

Nice profile for the new group.  I was thinking we could get some 70 and 80 year olds in the group so I could feel young again.

Running is coming along very slow.  The silver lining is that swimming has been coming along alot better.

Today I am painting a Pink room for my  6 and 8 year old daughters.  They are at the hardware store right now picking out the paint.  One wall will be all horses (8 year old) and the other will be all unicorns and cheetahs (6 year old).  I am not sure how that is going to turn out but just my little side project.  Everything is taped and ready to go.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

John

Lena, most of that was copied from last year. So that is my excuse. BUT if you wonder if you are middle aged, ask an 18 or 20 year old to define middle aged. Haha.

John, good luck with horses and unicorns!!!

Bryan, so NOT asking 18 and 20 years anything! they are KIDS, what do they know??? lol

I have a Christmas miracle hehe... last night, I managed to drop my iPhone into a dog water bowl that (get this) my husband JUST refilled. I mean, full submersion. I said quiet good bye to my faithful little worker, and it totally works. It doesn't even feel right typing that a fully submerged phone still works fine. it's a miracle! (the one I'm very thankful for)

Hey Mav, just saw this over on RW:

Visit www.vineyardwarrior.com January 1 to register for this Olympic distance event on the island of Martha's Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts.  September is prime Vineyard time for a fun filled weekend for the racer and their families alike.

Isn't this in your part of the world?

I found a great new workout.   I painted my girls room yesterday and my arms and shoulders are kind of sore this morning.

For Christmas, I told my two girls they could paint their room any color they wanted.  I should have set some boundries but didn't.  I'm learning as I get older.  Well, they went off to Menards with my wife.  They came back with 3 different colors since they couldn't decide on one.  So they have a pink wall, a green wall, and 2 purple walls.  We haven't started to decorate it yet.

And yes Lena, I not really sure where to get all the unicorn pictures and such.

Gary, I am sure you will make a great Mentor and the people that sign up for your group will benefit from your advice.  Maybe we could have a mentor group vs Mentor group challenge in the future!  Smile
