I hope Billy forgives me, because I have so much respect for his Ironman achievement ![]() Mav, you said you were gone for a day and chaos ensued. Can we blame it all on you if LRR enforces thread discipline? lol Edited by Lyoshka 2011-01-05 8:34 PM |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning everyone! Thought I would check in. Had a nice 6 mile run last night. Ran with a buddy. He ended up having some cramping issues so we stopped more i would have liked but all that matters is we got the milege in. That's what counts. I can see myself bumping up to 8 mile runs before too long. I also had a great swim this morning. for the first time since I started back up in December I felt that i could push myself a bit with out losing my breath. I am looking forward to getting my 100 splits down to around 1:40 and eventully 1:30. |

Just like a rebellious teen!!...which I know a lot about because I have one living in my house right now!!! (Maybe payback for my teenage years....no I was a good kid...never tried to break the rules! he he) Hey but I think I have been behaving on this forum??? Billy...everyone loves you! ![]() Today is a rest day for me! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mark, nice run! Do you run outside in the winter? (of course, you live in TX, not too awfully cold..) Amy, sweetheart, you are the best behaved Ironman in this group!!! (with Mav in close second).. And Billy is probably the most mischievious-behaved Ironman of this group.. but Ironman!!! And What An Ironman!!!(can I stop groveling now?) |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I keep forgetting to post my workouts (what with all the trouble Gary is causing lol).. I finished Wk2 Day5 workout of P90X-Legs and Back today. Well, I technically still have Ab Ripper X to do later today, but done with the main workout. Will try a little run today, as well, legs are pretty tired after P90X today. Was all planning on going for a 7 miler with my group this Sat, and my DH has to work! never ever works on Saturdays, the day I finally decide to get off my running couch, he has to work. I may just get up and go do a shorter run by myself that day. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lena - you finally figured it out! Back at ya! Mav - congrats! You will make a great mentor. Mark - wow, fast fish! Is that 1:30 yards or meters? Either way, much faster than me (but most people swim faster than me) Amy - You, behave? You are just more subtle than the rest of us. You may very well be the root of most evil (in this group). LRR - Look what you started! LOL, missed two rides this week, one from weenieness and one because I went for drinks with the boss. Need to rectify that tonight. Edited by GaryRM 2011-01-06 10:41 AM |

LOL, that is how my run/bike/swim is! As for the group, my promise to LRR was that I would not leave this group. Now don't tell the group this but I love them too much to leave. Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lyoshka- Mark, nice run! Do you run outside in the winter? (of course, you live in TX, not too awfully cold..) It was actually pretty nice last evening. Probably about 65 when we ran. I bet it must be fun up in your neck of the woods. I bet bike rides are are really interesting when there's snow on the ground. GaryRM - Mark - wow, fast fish! Is that 1:30 yards or meters? Either way, much faster than me (but most people swim faster than me) ::Sigh:: yards, thanks for knocking me off my pedestal. Seems like its impossible to fine a meter pool in my area. Swimming is pretty much my strength. I need the biggest lead possible because I am slow as molasas on the run. I see some of you are doing P90x. I'm not really big on strength training but I do want to get my core in shape. Is there a version that is core focused? Do you need to do it every day or can it be broken down to twice a week, something like that? |
![]() ![]() |
![]() | ![]() 7 mile run done!!!! I added an extra mile cause I slacked yesterday. So easy to skip a day on the off season. Glad to have another fish in the group Mark....I suck at running. Doesnt make any difference if I swim fast...I end up wogging in the end. My theory is Back of the Packers have more fun anyway!!! I do this for fun!!!! Where is IronBilly today????? |
![]() ![]() |
Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mark, I definitely do not bike outside when it's this cold. Actually, I usually stop when I'm done with the last tri of the season, cause I usually switch into a full running more for the fall HMs and Marathons. Winter=spinning classes at Lifetime. 65 sounds heavenly! When (ok, IF) I make it outside this Sat am, it'll be 8-10 degrees tops. To answer your question about P90X.. This is my first round and I'm finishing second week. It's definitely an all body program and there is a lot of core work. It's 6 days a week, 60-90 min a day, and 7th day is stretching or rest (my long run day). I'm choosing to do the whole enchilada-workouts, diet, all of it, as I really need to lose some weight and get into good shape for the HIM.. but you can definitely modify it to your needs. There is this little 15 min gig called Ab Ripper X, and yep, it's a freaking Ab RIPPER (right now, i'm in the dying stage, hopefully it'll get easier and I'll see results at the end), you could do that and pick some other workouts to target core specifically. Hth! |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow ---- I only asked you to play nice --- you took it to a WHOLE new level. Welcome Mark- you seem to be fitting in just fine. Over time, go back and read the 200 pages of posts. It's like a great training manual and diary with a soap opera here and there for fun. _________@Mav - where ya been? -----@Lena - grovelling officially complete. Well done ----@Gary - let me know if there's anything I can do for your group. ----@Amy - you were a dad's "dream" as a teen. I am sure....right. -----and finally,@Billy-- lighten up, Francis - or I should say......wait for it......IronFrancis. =========. Strive |

Now don't tell the group this but I love them too much to leave. If Billy hears that I won't hear the end of it! Awww, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU! :P By the way, thanks for all the welcomes, I know it's just a trap for when all the pain commences, but thanks all the same. I was talking to some local peeps about riding part of the IM course this weekend, then I looked at the weather forcast. High 53 with a 60% chance of rain. That trainer is suddenly looking a lot more appealing... |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lyoshka - 2011-01-06 12:56 PM Mark, I definitely do not bike outside when it's this cold. Actually, I usually stop when I'm done with the last tri of the season, cause I usually switch into a full running more for the fall HMs and Marathons. I have a lot of admiration for you marathoners. I have to much training ADD to ever focus on one sport. Of course that sounds real stupid now that i am training for an IM. For me, I am generally burned out on training by the time Nov-Dec rolls around. I usually spend those two month just doing "beer curls" :) Edited by x_caliber50 2011-01-06 3:54 PM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mark, yeah... admiration for marathoners? I'm glad you recognized how redundant that sounds coming from a FULL IRONMAN-training dude ![]() .. as far as a burn out.. this last year, I completed my Oly in August and was pretty much done with biking and swimming and just ran (and even then, not the volume I should have).. so I get being burned out. It does feel good to at least know you are burned out for a reason lol Edited by Lyoshka 2011-01-06 3:59 PM |
