Timberman was a BLAST! Got to watch both aquagirl and trirific come across the finish line, and actually Jorge, too. I didn't even know he was there until we heard his name coming down the chute! We were standing RIGHT next to Andy Potts when he won and for his interview - I can't wait for Erica (ebshot) to download her pics, I think I got a super cool one of his Olympic rings tat and his number (1). That boy has some sexy eyes; I know, he looked RIGHT at me.

Chrissy Wellington was awesome, awesome, awesome as usual. She just looks like she is having the BEST time, and she loves waving to her fans, etc. She cranked the course, too - she is a MACHINE! It was really cute, too - the second place woman, Catrina, came in about a minute and a half behind her, and she stopped everything, cheered her across the finish line, and gave her a huge hug, mugging together for the cameras. It's just so cool to see someone - anyone - as full of life and joy as she is. Go Chrissy!!

Alas, though, I totally forgot sunscreen, and am paying for it now. Yeouch! My co-worker keeps looking over at me from across the room and going, "Oh honey...."

Good morning team!   I hope all had a great week--and those that raced are recovering nicely.

Time to Kona:  47 days, 0 hours, 39 minutes, 4 seconds.  Not that I'm counting.

Goals for the rest of the month:

1.  I'm behind on my biking--by about 2 1/2 hours last week--and hope to close that gap this week. I'm going to throw a couple of extra short rides this week to adapt to the new bike

2.  I need to HTFU and stick with the plan this week.  I need to hit all of the workouts

3.  Early to bed, early to rise.  Work really picks up the following month.

4.  Get workout in early as kids school is starting up again--which means pressure for last minute things.

Off for a morning run.

Geoff

Well team, I should make my bike goal, I am busting it this week in the gym since I can't swim to make my strength goal, and I will be running, but I don't think I'm gonna make that run goal Challenges are sooooo humbling!

Did a poo poo 1.5 mile run tonight...felt good on the legs and brain. Not so good on the hip. Hurt at about 3/4 mile. I am going to stretch and ice. I am hoping the run will help loosen things up...The shins and feet complained, it has been awhile since I got to run. Need to catch up on the cycling.

I was thinking about you the other day... Have you thought about aqua jogging as a way to minimize stress on the legs?

Thanks for the thoughts....yes I have, but I do not have access to a pool, and do not have time to go to the beach.

I only have 6 more miles left to run this month!  I'm so excited!  It is going to be tough to get those next two runs done though.  Salmon season opens this weekend which means that my husband will not be around to take care of the baby while I run.  I might have to suck it up and run on the tready at the gym to get it done.  I would LOVE to have some nice, yummy freash salmon!  Ah, the sacrifices.

Not gonna make either my logging goal or my run goal. Just fell off the wagon on those. BUT, I made my bike goal! Maybe I'll run to work tonight instead of riding...

Hey, actually, that's not a bad idea. Hmmm....

Anywho, finally mostly recovered from T'man. Man, the heat and sun seriously knocked me out. Stoopid disease.

What's everyone's plans for the weekend??

Morning...got a little ride in yesterday, hurt to swing the leg over the bike to get on. The pain is in the knee and ankle and lower back. All this put together tells me my hip is out, going to the back cracker. I read back in my blogs (beginning of the month) and all of this crap happened after I fell while lifting weights. I had 60 lbs of weight above my head, when I rolled off of the ball and landed on the floor. Running with my hip out could be causing all of the pain. We shall see.

Hey team -
Sorry for being MIA lately. This past weekend I made the 12 hour trip to Chicago from OKC with a 7 week old puppy for my sister. Laney is going to be so loved and spoiled. After making the trip home this past Tuesday I have been trying to recover as well as get up with our very spoiled puppy - Jake. He is Laney's brother. The getting up at 3:15 is going to be killer but even if I am slower I am getting things done. Below is a picture of my "little man" Jake.

Ok--I finished up my long run for the week--16.5 miles and I'll be at 100% once the google doc is updated.  Off to PT later and then OWS clinic.  That should put me above 100% on both swim and other.  Now I need to HTFU and get the 7 hours of biking done to close that gap.

Huhhh??? IT band? The hit was out, but said the ITB is ticked off. If this adjustment did not work said I need ortho. knew that. He fixed the hip and lower back, now all the nerves are firing again, and not happy. IDK..He also said he put it in, and running may iritate it.grrr..

Ew, ITB probs are no good. I was wondering if that's what the issue was, but was hoping popping it back into alignment would fix everything. Maybe it was out too long? I've never suffered with ITB issues, but I hear foam rollers are the bomb-diggity.

And yes, I just used the phrase, "bomb-diggity."
