Artemis - 2008-03-26 7:39 PM So, it looks like races will be the theme for April and Lynne and I are going to run it.

sounds like fun - i'm confused though, I thought I saw you post goals in the thread started by xterratri

xterratri = Lynne(tte)

I did post a goal there

I was thinking of the wrong Lynne and so I was REALLY confused - LOL

I figured you thought I meant Scotinseattle.  I can understand the confusion.

Sweet!

Sad ... probably untreated clinical depression. I've been on and off medication for a few years, more recently off, but it's really probably time to get back on to it.

And the boy ... I love him so very much, and him I, and we are perfect for each other, and had a relationship beyond either of our dreams. But for many reasons, the timing/context are wrong wrong wrong. He has a lot of stuff to take care of, and fairly enough, so do I.

If the relationship has any hope, we've got to put it aside. And if (beyond belief) we manage to find people that are better suited to us, then we've truly found something incredible, and would be happy (if momentarily devastated) for the other.

Sounds like you've got great perspective on things.
I used to think that people were insane to take med's for depression.  Now that I'm older and understand the context of it all a little better, I say better to take med's than to turn to other worse addicitive cures (ie alcohol

I think it depends on who you are... I found that I really didnt like the affect the medication had on me, but I also think that if they do help, especially in severe cases they should be considered along with all the other measures such as diet, exercise and talking to someone...

Oh Jen... I wish I could participate... it sounds like it's going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!! Unfortunately, between both boys birthdays, r-ball tourney, hubby's halfmary, and vacation.... I think I'm booked. Maybe I could set REALLY small goals.

Hmm... are time goals going to be allowed, or distance only?

Time goals are allowed (that's what I'm doing).  Two or more of bike, swim, run, and strength.  I don't think small goals would be a problem.  Anything it takes for you to be motivated and get to training.

Sounds like a busy month, though, and I would completely understand if you can't.

Woiw thats going to take some juggling with teams and spreadsheets! nice....

Thats great idea if yuo include strength I think I can sign up too! Might just be small goals though...

Then again Im the one holding my team back this month so maybe i should deal with that first!

Yea, me too. I'm not sure if I can accurately predict what my volume is going to be. I let spring break slip my mind for this month. I reduced volume for my race, but forgot I would lose a few days with the kids being home. April is busy with DD's birthday, a triathlon, spring carnival at school and it should be a major build month for my HIM.

I'm sorry to hear that.  I know how it feels to be off anti-depressants and realize you need to go back on.

I really feel like sometimes you need to take a break in order for relationships to really work.  I hope it does work out for the two of you and you can both be happy.

That is sweet, sweet, sweet. Thank you so much.

Jen (WARNING this is an annoying question of sorts that after a few of these will drive you nuts)

I know for strength you have allowed a number of sessions goal... can I do that for cycling/running too?

i.e 12 cycle sessions, 12 run sessions, 12 strength sessions

Ok I know Im being annoying so you CAN say NO if Im making it hard!

Well, that's the thing ... I've already really attended to the things like diet, exercise, a fantastic support system, therapy, etc. etc.

It all helps, so very much, but just not enough.

You guys are awesome.

I'm off to walk some dogs, try and squeeze a swim in (probably won't happen) and get together with some friends.

I'm so glad you get to go the soccer games. Yay! Gotta run and set up my bike for the trainer. I have a 2 hour (yuck!) ride planned for tomorrow. I've gotta get 30 miles done is I have any hope of making goal this month
