Good afternoon, Nibbs.

I'm home from the Marquis de Sade. I wish I had the total elevation change, but holy horsefeathers, Batman, this was a tough, tough ride. My Garmin said we went 75.89 miles, but I forgot to start it and stop at at several points so who knows. My legs are so fried. I'm going to take a nice, soothing bubble bath now. See blog for more details about the ride. Happy Saturday, everyone

Well, you could always re-ride it next weekend to get a better distance by the Garmin.

(I'm always helpful.)

All kidding aside, that was a FANTASTIC ride! Very impressive. Those are some steep hills out there.

If you have the cue sheet, you could put it in the BT Route tracker. Then you'll get a more accurate distance and the amount of climbing.

Well, yeah. I guess she could do that too.

I was kinda hoping that she'd do the ride again next weekend. Uh, not that I plan on going with her. (I may be stupid, but I'm not masochistic.... Um, wait. Did that come out right???)

Even easier, I think you can import the data from a Garmin into a training log.  I'm not exactly sure how it works, though.  Clearly, re-riding the route would be much easier.

Yep. AND with summer coming, imagine how good she'll look in shorts if she does this a few times.

Of course, she could just go here to upload the route: Garmin Integration - Phase 1

Evening Nibbs. Looks like lots of bike riding in the last couple of days. I worked all day today and then came home and went swimming in the outdoor pool. It wasn't too bad. It's going to be tough getting in all my training (for Jen) this week, but I'm going to try my best.

Do what you can.  I'm not super worried about it.  You do have to swim though.

I think y'all are forgetting that I'm a moocher on this site. I can't download my Garmin and I don't see the route tracker thingy. I can't even figure out how to look at the elevation profile on the dang Garmin itself. All I know is this was one of the toughest rides I have ever done.

The post says: "Phase I is live: EVERYONE can now upload routes to the Route Tracker from their Garmin device."

So, I guess that if you ever figure out the Garmin, you should be able to upload it to BT.

I'd try to help you with it, but I don't have one. I DO have a $5 pedometer though.

I don't have a Garmin, either, so I'm not much help.  I was thinking about getting one, but opted for the much more low-tech wired bike computer.  I don't think I'd use all the features on the Garmin.  I have a HRM, but I never use it.

All this talk of downloading the Garmin and then I realized, duh, I do that in Training Peaks so my coach gets my data. So I looked it up and the total elevation gain was 11,942 feet, according to the Garmin. I don't know exactly how it calculates this, but that was the read out.

That's a lot of climbing!  I was complaining about the climbs in my ride, but clearly you beat me by a lot.

Wow.... that's like 2 days of climbing on Everest (est 5K ft per day)....
Sometimes when I use the google map online here, it'll tell me that my elevation was soemthing like 4800 ft over 3 miles.... when I'm hiking at that ratio it usu. takes me an hour per mile... and there is NO way I'd ever be able to do that even on my mtn bike...

Good luck figuring that one out....

Ewww.....  There was a dead dear on the side of the road when I was riding yesterday, but at least it was on the opposite side so I didn't have to be too close.
