Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: X-Men Today is a rest day for me. I am exhausted and need it! I was thinking of throwing an extra swim in but no way! I shall be lazy today. I updated the spreadsheet and I am 42% done with my goal. I think I might have underestimated my biking but I swear I counted my plan hours. Then again, it is entirely possible that I miss counted! |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: X-Men Got my run in this morning. It wasn't 70 min like my plan called for, only 60 but I'll take it! It was POURING rain! HOW FUN!!! Am I the only one who LOVES to run in the rain? I find it, I don't know, but I love it! My good friend Cara went with me. I talked her into it and she had fun. Her hubby made fun of us but that's fine! All in good fun! Not gonna swim today. Seriously, I don't think I need another 45 minutes in the pool this week. I'm still waterlogged from my run! Have a great day everyone! |

Uxbridge | Subject: RE: X-Men They are very cute Erica!!!!! Did a 30 mile ride with a fellow BTer...oh my...it was SO cold and SO windy!!! Temp was 40 but with the wind it was like 30.We traveled a beautiful very hilly route from Mass into Connecticut which was the only thing that made it tolerable. My superpowers kept me from becoming a popsicle. Tommorow I am going to ride the course of my HIM. It is supposed to be 30*warmer and its a flat course so it should be fun. At least I am certain I wont be a popsicle! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: X-Men im trying to do a little forward thinking. summer presents some different challenges what w my kiddos being home, and scheduling my trng session. when i was at the Y i got to talk to some of the members of the masters swim team. a few months back i was invited to 'swim in' w them. they practice at 5:30 am M-S. im getting super excited as i think forward to the summer cuz im thinking that joining them early in the morning, before anyone is awake will free up my day to do summer 'stuff' w the kids. ive heard from everyone that this a super group of people, that team is very encouraging/supportive towards one another, and theres a mix of all ability levels, this being one of the 'hallmarks' of the team. the women i was talking to said the tues and thurs are the most 'popular' swim days since they have 'run' of the entire lap pool. so ive been working out what i think my schedule will look like come June-July-August. i find it to be a fun/engaging process. its just a good feeling to begin to look beyond not only the short term, the events that i have planned over the next two months, but think/plan beyond them, to set my sights on some new goals, and to start having some new aspirations. do you find yourself doing this? though im engaged in my trng now, focused on the events that are in the near future, i find myself looking ahead, to the next step i'll take, the next level i want to reach for...always onward, always upward. its a great feeling to have/great place to be..... |

I hear you Stacie. This week is challenging for me with the kids home on spring break and Bryan is working crazy hours. Soooo, I am relegated to the trainer and treadmill this week. Swimming will get thrown in when it can. Bah! I wish I could get my rear out of bed at 5:00 and run before Bry heads to work but I am just not a morning person! I get up early as it is, I don't want to get up even earlier, unless it is to have a nice cup of coffee! Summer is tough. I plan to have the kids in camp for 2 weeks and then just train at the YMCA (childcare!) and the trainer after that. OWS/runs/rides will just have to wait until I can get babysitting for the chicklets! I am lucky to have a great friend base here so I know I will have oppertunities, they just won't be as often as I'd like! Oh well, I shall just roll with it! It will be a fun summer no matter! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: X-Men ERICA. im learning (sounds like you are too) that flexibility is the key. i used to get in such a wad when things didnt go 'according to plan' ie if i didnt do my trng plan 'exactly as is'.... id love to do more trng over the summer months, but ive learned i have to make adjustments. i want to go into the summer w an attitude much like yours - you do what you can do, try make the schedule work, and when it doesnt (for whatever reason) then be flexible, even if that means letting this/that go. its a good place to be i think mentally/emotionally. stacie |
