LazyMarathoner - 2009-06-18 6:30 PM Hey guys. So my flight was canceled, what a crap day. It was pouring, I dragged my bike, a huge bag of pretty much all the tri gear I own, my laptop and a suitcase to the airport, battled with Delta over the 200 bucks they charged me to check the bike, only to have to turn around and drag it all home. They tried to book me on a flight that landed so late tomorrow night that i'd have to miss HHH so I took a 6am flight to Milwaukee and my dad is picking me up there. The bike shop in Madison is fitting me in and if all goes well, I'll still make it. Bummer.
But I ran Five more miles, I'm at 65% of goal.
It would be cheaper to send it UPS...
Yeah, but UPS is a hassle too. Due to my schedule I have to have a bike shop send it and they charge $60 on top of the shipping, and then 60 again to receive it back. When I shipped for IMNO my bike was gone for 4 weeks collectively, and I'm training for an IM so I can't deal with that time away. Plus two friends (one is a BTer) had their bikes ruined by UPS and are now stuck waiting for claims. It felt safer and easier to take it on the plane, although it's still a hug PITA.
