Do vegetarians ever feel full?
I am not being sarcastic I just look at the menus and think that I would be starving on that type of a diet.
What is your main protein source?
Thanks in advance! Oh us veggies can overeat! Especially if you're not vegan (I am not ) and like cheese. (I love pizza ) Protein can be a challenge, but it's doable. I eat lots of beans (black, lentils, garbanzos etc ). One fav is black beans with salsa & chili's served over brown rice. Topped with low fat sour cream and cilantro. Yum. I've learned to like tofu....it's all in the preparation. I like it stir fried with a peanut/sesame sauce. Speaking of peanuts....I eat peanut butter sandwiches for lunch fairly often. I buy the healthy kind though, no sugar. You can boost protein in lots of other ways, I sneak protein powder into foods whenever possible. I'm fairly liberal with food, other than the fact I don't eat meat or fish. Today's meals...post swim: home made lara bar, b'fast: hardboiled egg, stick cheese, banana. snack: whole wheat pita chips lunch: lentil soup, apple. Rest of day tbd but will have another snack and dinner will probably be whole wheat pasta with something or the other on top. Maybe Tom, I heard he likes to be on top. Seriously, only time I struggle is when I travel. I don't have a problem with my weight and feel great. I do supplement iron and b12 though. Not for everyone and I'm not out to try and convert anyone. Personal choice. I'm having the family for Thanksgiving and there will be a turkey on the table for them. |
