bfwhitt - 2010-03-09 6:55 PM Holly does the basketball trophy have boobs?

That would be awesome...I have never won a trophy that had boobs....well besides my wife.... and no she is not a trophy wife....I can hear the thoughts and comments coming already....

Now I have even more incentive to win this thing...lets do it !!!!!!

I think it might...I know I certainly didn't in middle school...but it just might...Geez-I don't know where it is...gonna have dig thru the storage area...If it doesn't have them, I will add some. Now that will be truly fabulous!!

I will do those darned pushups and situps tonight - Y'all better kick it cause I think this might be the only trophy I ever won-and therefore VERY valuable!!! (not to mention - it is an antique!)

dexter - 2010-03-05 9:13 PM Real push ups.

For guys and gals? Hmmm....it's harder for girls to do real pushups, but I will do them. It will help me with Crossfit.

Why?

boobs.

Although quite funny, my Double-D's would have to disagree.  The push ups on knees work the muscle groups differently.  To me they are just as much of a b#tch as the regular ones.  I guess its personal preference and I say that the men should also be able to try it on their knees if they so choose.

I don't do anything on my knees that is not on the bed.  Oops TMI.

Sorry..

Long run and selling Girl Scout cookies Saturday, two hour spin class (my half-century cycling class) Sunday.

Spin instructor, at class this morning: "Hey Heather, we're doing intervals, so don't do much Saturday to keep those legs fresh, will you?"
Me: "I have a long run Saturday."
(silence)
Him: "Well, better bring the electric legs, then."

I'm on my third day.  The rep I did 20.  I have a couple of patients that count for me and monitor my butt height.  They have fun, I get tired.
Good luck on the run Holly.   Heather please sell the GS cookies to someone else.  I'm a sucker for shortbreads.

And hell yes you should renew the gym, you just spent the whole weekend there, and you LOVE it.

Now selling Girl Scout cookies, just $3.50 a box plus shipping, got lots of shortbread left... ha.

I am not doing the challenge.  How do you like that?  I suggest it and then I bail.  My trainer incident last week still has me traumatized and the thought of doing a push up or a crunch is literally making me sick to my stomach.  I really thought I was going to die during that workout.  I have never cried or been in so much pain during a workout.  It was literally like someone was suffocating me. I am not willing to push my body to its limits right now.

I have had some epiphanies this weekend with my new running group.  I have always been a runner and gave it up to do tri's. (train to your weakest and that was my strongest).  I love running.  It is my happy place.  I will be doing the events I have registered for in 2010 but then I am retiring from tri's and am going to just do running events.  Look for a huge garage sale of tri stuff on Aug. 9 (my olympic du is Aug 8).  Biking and swimming don't appeal to me and I have no desire to do something that I don't enjoy.  Why do I do this?  I move my body for health and stress relief.  Life is too short if you are not having fun doing something that is not work.

On the fun note, I did get chosen to be a lead cyclist at a local marathon in April (Martian).  I only have to ride faster than the lead runners, so less than 13mph, which I can handle.  It'll be a fun way to volunteer and get me some training in at the same time.  Woot!

Way to go, Jo. You've got to do what makes you happy or (at least if you're me) you stop working out altogether! I still expect to see you on FB and at local running events, though.... including the Martian!

Had my own epiphany over the weekend (somewhere around mile 9 in the rain, slogging through the soup that used to be a dirt road): I'm not ready for the full on Martian Marathon weekend, and I'm not going to kill myself to do it anyway - and then ruin the training for IM Louisville, which is what this year is all about. I sent Running Fit a note asking to bump down to the half.

Either way, I'll see you out there.

HEather if they won't just stop at 13.1.  Good thinking.

Jo if you love running do it.

If it is me against Bruce we might both get hurt.  Ouch.

Not fair, I did not suggest the crunches or the time constraint.  But then I'm not participating and am actually enjoying seeing you sweat so I guess I deserve that.

Actually I read the 100 push up and 200-(ok that's a ridiculous number-) situps little website thingy today...and I know I didn't hold those crunches for a full second at the top...so I should probably redo my count tonight and revise that number accordingly...to be fair. Otherwise I am way tougher than I thought and also way tougher than my jiggly belly shows! HA!

Hi all. Been 10 days or so since i was active. I hope everyone is well. Sadly I have had and still have a cold!! I just cant shift it. My 5 year old had it for a week and i got it from her as she was coming out the far end. Its really knocked me for 6. I thought i was getting better on friday but saturday night and this morning I have felt shocking. Just had not the lungs to go running or swimming.

Problem is I have my first race in 4 weeks now and feel under prepared. going to have to throw myself into the training as soon as body will respond

the cycling legs will come back pretty quick as i was starting to put in some good sessions and was happy with the progress.

swimming could be back to square 1. How long does it take tyo get back into the groove. At least my 1st tri only has a 200m swim so damage will be minimal

running will have to be the key sessions. As you know its not my favourite area but needs must.

I see lots of comments regarding the push up/ sit up challenge. Interesting trophy!!!! some of the numbers people are managing are impressive. I will join the fray this week

hope you are all well

Hi Sharon, just a quick hello and welcome to the group. There are some great guys and gals on here all looking to achieve different things this year.  Thanks for sharing your story with us so we can understand who you are and maybe at times what buttons to push to keep you going.

The foot injury sounds a nightmare. Everyone on here has had to put up with me moaning about a cold for the last 10 days let alone a foot injury that keeps you out for 2 years. Good on you to take the decision to jump back into it. A supportive family and competitive kids could make this an interesting year.

the group has shrunk since its inception so its good to see a new face. Old faces that doesn't mean i dont enjoy your company on here before you all start on me!!!

Good luck with the training and once again welcome, from a fellow tri newbie
