This week is going to be a difficult week, so I am going to try and follow my program as close as possible.  I know that I am going to miss a few things but I will make up for them next week.
I hope everyone has a great week.
One more week until my 1/2 marathon training starts.Surprised

I got another Brick in today.  The temperature was supposed to be -3 this morning and I said SCREW THAT and decided another brick would be much easier to deal with.  The bike was slightly less intensity than last nights ride but I though maybe I shouldn't kill myself right before I went for the run.  I rode for 1 hr and got 20.4 miles in on a 4x8:00  w/2:00 rests for the main set.  My HR was in mid Z3 which is something that I will work on getting higher over the next few weeks.  The run was 5 miles and I finished that in 37:46 for a 7:33 avg.  I wasn't expecting ti to be that fast and I wasn't trying to go hard after the bike but it happened.  I am going to start checking my watch a little more often to make sure I don't go too hard all the time.

I did a VERY WINDY ride today. hated every minute of it.... lol.

My goal for this week is simple. 25miles running.  I did 20 this week without much problem.
keep eating right, and if possible add more bike rides.
also workout in the mornings instead of nights cause life is getting hectic.

My goals for the week:

Tuesday-spin class
Wednesday-swim
Thursday-strength train
Friday-swim

Ok, so the swim for me is basically drills--keep head down, turn head to side when breathing not up, work on kicking and arms. Once I get the basics down, then I can start putting it all together.

I've never really strength trained, (or swam) so it will be interesting to see how sore I am at the end of the week. Hopefully won't use it as an excuse to stop.

Didn't get my run in today.  My alarm woke me up this morning, but I felt like I got run over by a truck.  My arms, back, shoulders, legs...everything was sore from helping my dad yesterday.

Long story...but I may have fractured or broken my hand or wrist last night.  Going to try and see my doctor tomorrow for some xrays.

Hey guys,
Haven't been around much but kept up with everyones posts.
So this past week was a little hectic for me and as a result I did practically zero training. I started with a week of student teaching which brought me back to a typical school schedule not my relaxed college schedule. I wasn't getting alot of sleep at night but found myself taking small naps every afternoon which made getting sleep at night even more difficult. This along with having to write lesson plans really didn't leave time for my trainer.

I decided to ditch the 3x week Oly plan and go with the 2x at least until I can figure out my schedule. I got a swim in this morning which made me realize how much swim fitness I have lost although the workout didn't go too horribly. I just got off the trainer too which felt pretty good.

My goals for the week:
~ No afternoon naps!
~ Get all my workouts in before dinner.

I hope you're wrong about your arm.  That would be a pretty tough injury to still get workouts like swimming and, I imagine, cycling in.

Goals for this week;
Make up tonights missed swim.  (Daughter has her own swim meet.)
Hit the bike harder than I have been.
Add another run at the end of the week.  (2 easy miles.)
Keep doing more for my wife around the house.

Goals for the week:
6 workouts
get the bike in working order

I suppose my goals for this week is to just work out as much as possible while letting my wrist heal.

This might be a run heavy week for me...which really wouldn't be too bad.

I’m about a month out from when I am planning on starting the HIM training program on this site.  Has anyone here used the program and would you recommend it?  It is likely that I am going to have to go at my own pace for the swims initially but I have been doing a lot better in the pool the last week (which was my third week swimming) so there is hope.  I have been training 4 to 5 days a week and need to bump it up to 6 this month in preparation for the program.  Also need to start putting in some more time running; I have been focusing on swimming and biking which are both new to me the last couple months.

My Goals for this week:

  1. Train 5-6 days & 6+ hours total
  2. Get in at least 2 runs, one longer 6+ mile run.
  3. 3 Swim Workouts
  4. 3 Bike Workouts, one 90 Minute trainer ride

So doctor took some xrays and he didn't see any breaks.  He's going to have a radiology expert look at it and call me if he see's anything my doctor couldn't see.  Lots of small bones in the hand, so it's not always easy for a regular internest to tell.

So as of right now, it's just a sprain.  I've got a ace wrap on it now, and everyone at work keeps asking about it.  My story is I encountered a grizzly bear over the weekend, and punched it in the mouth.

Going to lay off the swimming for a week, and focus mainly on running and riding the trainer.  I should have no problem riding the trainer on my aero bars...but hoping my hand will be strong enough to ride outdoors this weekend.

Now that I know more specifically my injury...my goals will be

Ride - 3 hours trainer & either 2.5 hour outdoor group ride or 2 hour trainer ride saturday.
Run - 30+ miles.
Swim - nada...rest the hand.
Weight - lose something...weighed in at 161.2 this morning.

Hit the gym this morning and did a 1500m swim, 50m warm up 7x200 then a 50m cool down. After that I ran 4.5 miles and then lifted a little.

Goals
watch what I eat
Run over 10 miles this week
Drink more water

This is a goal I should make too.  Seems so simple to do, but it has huge benefits when I was more diligent about it.

Doctor said it was just a sprain...and now that it's been about 48 hours since the injury...I can feel it starting to feel better...and I'm regaining some of the strength in my fingers.

Got in a 1 hour run on the treadmill while watching the ending of the BCS football game.  Won a bet on Auburn from my coworker...so bonus.

I probably have to revise my goals for this week.  After last nights swim meet I may try to get another Brick in tonight but it will be a long shot.  If I push it to much I won't get some other goals completed, one of which is making sure I don't exhaust my wife from MY training.

There are 2 more swim meets this week, another evening meet on Thursday and then an all day Saturday conference meet.  I will already have my long run in on Friday so I may not be able to get my longer bike in.  It will depend on when I have to be at the meet Saturday.

Hand is still a little puffy, but feeling better.  I can actually pick things up now with my left hand...where yesterday, just picking up a cup of water was painful.

I think I should be close to 100% as far as outdoor biking and swimming by this weekend.
