Subject: RE: Marvarnett's Group - Fullwillie05 - 2007-04-10 9:39 AM Congratulations Dan & Michelle - it was great seeing how you both did. Dan - only one word describes that reaction - Jealousy. I guess you were supposed to go slow for a certain number of races...![Undecided Undecided](../tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif) Taking into account work and training, what's your typical daily schedule like to balance the two and family? I just take comments like that in stride. I am a firm believer that if you go out and have a good race, it doesn't matter if you win or come in DFL. You had a good race! That's what matters. In regards to schedule, I am quite the planner. It's the only way to get things done. In general, if I have an AM workout, I get up at 5 am and either run or swim. I am at work by 0715 and work until 4:30 pm. Then I do my PM workout and am home around 7:30ish. Masters swim is from 6 -7 and it takes me just over an hour to drive there from work. Or if I bike right after work, I can get in just over 2 hrs. Eat dinner around 8ish and spend time with Nan and the dog. We don't watch TV, so we are talking and sharing time from the instant I come in the front door. that includes walking the dog as soon as I get home. I go to bed around 10 pm and repeat. Weekends, I try and get my workouts in and done before noon. Long runs, I'm done by 9 am and we usually meet up for Breakfast. Long rides, we have lunch together. In a nutshell, I train about 13 - 16 hrs a week and work 40 hrs a week. The big thing is that on occasion, Nan will ask me to just hang out and I will cancel a workout for that. BUT...she knows that it can't become a habit. It's kinda like a silver bullet. :P |
