LazyMarathoner - 2008-12-05 8:10 PM My weekend isn't going to be very exciting. I'm swimming tomorrow, then picking up race packets, the buying a new laptop. I have a race Sunday. This whole holiday thing is getting on my nerves too so I feel like I just want to avoid being out with people. Oh well, the race will be fun. I'm meeting up with a good BT friend.

Do you know what kind of laptop you're buying?

Edited for grammar.

Does your Grammar always make you edit things? Of just your Grampa?

LOL. Proper grammar has always been a pet peeve of mine. Course I can't spell worth a darn but oh well! My punctuation is usually correct!

Grammar is important

My grandma was an english teacher.  It's darn near a sin for me to have bed grammer

LOL! Now we're talking about fun stuff!

hehe!

this sounds like a fun team!

Hey in my book races are exciting. Hope you have fun!

It's my second-to-last qualifier for the NYC mary next year so I wasn't going to actually race it, but after a good run today, I think i might actually make an effort. I do love races.

I'm jealous. Not a whole lotta options here in iowa in the dead of winter. Although I may be picking up a race in San Diego in January when I'm out there on vacation

How is Iowa in the winter? Freezing? San Diego would be nice. It's running season in NYC so there are tons and tons of races.

It got cold here in a hurry.  Usually December is mild and then we suffer through January and February.  Single digit lows for the next week or so though.  Usually I go into winter depression mode but the challenges are helping.

Needless to say I'm sooooooooo looking forward to vacation

I'm getting the new Macbook. I love it! I shopped around a couple weeks ago and will hit the Apple store tomorrow to buy. I have to get it before the end of the year so I have it as a biz write-off.

Welcome to the club.  As I type this on my Macbook.  It is the best computer out there.  I haven't had the chance to check out the new one.  Lucky you!

We joke that it's a cult. People make the move and then get totally obsessed with Mac. I hope I love it. It's really nice, I've used the older Macbook and they made some nice updates.

Totally a cult!  We started off with one little Macbook and now we have a imac and his and her Macbooks.  We'll NEVER to back to pc's.  Apple all the way!!!

It's funny you say that because I run in shorts and a tank until I absolutely can't take it anymore and people think I'm nuts. It was 37 the morning of the marathon and I wore the outfit in my avatar. I added arm warmers though. I got a bit warm, it was about 42 during the race. I was roasting today in a jacket.

That is crazy!  If it's in the 40s, I'm in my cold weather gear.  Of course, in my defense, this is my first winter running.  It doesn't get real cold in Hawaii!

Its all about what your used to.  After the first 10 minutes I get so hot that I've learned to war the least layers possible, which means shorts and tank top until its below 30

Nice.  I like to try all the regional wines whenever I move to a new place.  I still have a lot more to get through here.  There weren't all that many in HI.  Are there a lot of vineyards in Iowa?

disturbed275 - 2008-12-05 8:59 PM Whoops. I blame that on the wine. Grammer had nothing to do with it

What kind are you drinking tonight??

A nice regional sauvignon blanc. White's the only way for me and nothing too sweet

Nice. I like to try all the regional wines whenever I move to a new place. I still have a lot more to get through here. There weren't all that many in HI. Are there a lot of vineyards in Iowa?

There seems to be new vineyards popping up every time I blink.  In fact my favorite bike route takes me past one a few miles north of town.  Always wanted to stop in but am afraid the last 5 miles home would be rough

Actually Erica, what wine were you enjoying tonight? And did you open serving #2?

Not yet.  I'm polishing off a local white wine.  Next is a merlot.  Forgot what the label is...

I had a Shiraz, next up, Cabernet.

LazyMarathoner - 2008-12-05 7:10 PM My weekend isn't going to be very exciting. I'm swimming tomorrow, then picking up race packets, the buying a new laptop. I have a race Sunday. This whole holiday thing is getting on my nerves too so I feel like I just want to avoid being out with people. Oh well, the race will be fun. I'm meeting up with a good BT friend.

Wow, single digits is ridiculous. It's 30ish here and I'm freezing! I'm going to Chicago in a week and it's been in the low teens. Brrrr.

Oye, Chicago is crazy cold!  I love that city though.

Yeah, I love that city and grew up so close, but couldn't bring myself to live there with the winters. I avoid it in the winter normally, but decided to visit friends and try to have a good time before all the Christmas carp begins. Bah Humbug.

x2

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I feel like the grinch.

I don't know what is wrong with me.  I usually love Christmas time.  Not feeling it at all this year. Don't want to do a darn thing.  I'd skip the tree if the kids would let me.  As it is, it won't go up for another week or two.  Bah!

That reminds me, I'm dying to do this marathon. I need to convince someone to do it with me, this team seems like a good group for it!
