Is anyone from Australia on this team?

Yep - you! It's my challenge, I hereby make you an honorary member of the Vixens. Whether you like it or not. Still working on getting Mila to stop by...

Well, she *is* Cat VanDerKitten aka Super Vixen.

What did I get up to in WCPT? Something like 21 in a row? Yeah, I talk to myself a lot...

Anywho, what challenge is this? Ah, yes, I logged my food AGAIN, yay! It is already making a huge difference - I went out for a run today on my day off so I could have a piece of cake. And yet, I still haven't eaten the cake. I am so, so happy I decided to make this my limiter - it truly was limiting me, and I've known for months that I needed to get back to it, and this was just the push I needed. I even got ALL smilies today/yesterday! I didn't get all eleven, but I got nine of them, which is REALLY good for my third day back to logging.

The cool thing is, if I keep at this and stay really diligent, I will be at or near my goal weight by Pittsfield (I think I talked about Pittsfield in the Hot Toddies - it's a killer snowshoe race in March that I am stupidly considering). That and doing the hill runs that I've committed myself to means I might actually survive the ordeal.

Yay for food logging!

But... a snowshoe race? If it was done in the Bahamas, I'd be game for it. But New Hampshire? Brrrrrr. I'm a cold-weather wimp. Summer = good. Winter = brrrrrrrrr.

Speaking of being in New Hampshire... That means you're in the same time zone that I'm in. And it's 1:47 AM here. Why are we still awake?

You are still awake because you insist on w*rking instead of post padding contributing.

I am still awake because I get paid to be awake and contribute post pad.

See, it all works out!

Oh, and on that other thing, yeah, you can totally blame Beth. It was all her in the first place.

I'm just not so sure SNOWshoes would be so very useful in the Bahamas....

And yes, winter = brrrrrrr, but it's kinda fun in that "I'm hardcore" sort of way to tough it out. Plus, snow is pretty. And you get to throw snowballs. I think sandballs are frowned on.

Oh, speaking of which...
DUCK!

so Kristin,

when will the registration for the race be, any idea?

I'm guessing sometime in the next week or two. I keep checking back to see, it looks like you can't register for any January races yet. I hope it isn't 10 degrees! I did a couple winter races that were just ridiculous. My 10k this Sunday will be about 30 with a chance of snow. Yippee!

Tippity Toppage!

I seriously hope it's not super cold, but if it is - oh well - it will be fun!

We'll get some hot toddies afterward!

absolutely!!!

ps

I never in a MILLION years thought I would do a 1/2 Mary - but here I am

You'll love it! It's seriously the best race distance ever. I think it's by far the most fun to do. I wish I could do more, but there just aren't many. Can't wait!

Did someone mention hot toddies?  If Bryan is home, I might be crashing your party!

ebshot - 2008-12-03 9:53 AM Morning all.  I blew off my run this morning.   My calf is a little tight and my bed was so warm!  I'm also babysitting this am.  Yuck!  Hopefully it won't be for too much longer.  I want try to get a swim in!  Hopefully it will all work out!
Eeek, hope the calf loosens up. And hope you didn't throw the kid out the window. It would set a bad example to Liam.

Didn't throw the kid out but the thought did cross my mind!  Ugh, it messed up my entire day!

I am thinking my calf issues might be an achilles issues.  I hope not though.   I'm just going to ignore it and see what happens.  Makes sense right?

LazyMarathoner - 2008-12-03 2:02 PM It's not close. I could bike there, it's about 4 miles, nice ride over the Brooklyn Bridge, quick shot across lower Manhattan then up the Hudson River path. I could take the train, it's about 5 stops.
Kristen, I really hope you don't take the the wrong way, but... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! FOUR miles is far away??? Wow, you *are* a city girl, huh? I've not joined the pool that is 35 miles away due to gas and time constrictions (and cost to join), but that is by far the closest pool. Four miles... Okay, sorry, had to get that out of my system. I actually do truly understand that city travel is totally different than rural travel. It's all a matter of perspective, and how your day/travel flows. I just bust out laughing to read "not close" and "four miles". Then again, I wouldn't live in NYC permanently for all the money in the world, so to each their own.

Ok, let me clarify. I think it's actually about 7 miles, but it could take 30-45 minutes on a subway and walking to cover that 7 miles. People elsewhere would just drive, but we don't have that option here. So miles in New York mean something quite different. The entire island of Manhattan is only 22 square miles, yet I can ride the subway for almost an hour to get to the furthest point before entering the Bronx. So it would probably be like joining a pool that required a 30 minute drive.
