Maybe some bike porn.....can't wait!

Arrest one of Springpatch's finer citizens this AM.  When we strapped him into the front-passenger seat he was thrilled.  He said he usually rides in the back of police cars!

Sounds like a fine upstanding man about town.  Coming from a family involved in law enforcement, I love to hear these kinds of stories.  Repeat offenders are the best.Laughing

There will be bike porn later today.  Yeah me!

Nice job on the arrest, thank you for helping keep the lowlifes off the streets.

Welcome Jack. Very cool looking.

Speaking of cards on bikes I have to tell a little story about my mtn bike geek husband. For his birthday this month he got new rims for both of his bikes. He was very excited about this. Once he got the first set on he called me outside and made me listen to the sound the rear hub makes when it free spins. It sounds just like there were cards on it. We both laughed. Then when he got the other set installed (a different type) he said it's silent. Not sure what to think about a silent bike.

Holy cow, I had some catching up to do...

Lara ~ how does the ring lap counter work?  I just can't picture it (maybe I'll have to look one up on the internet, huh?!)

Anne ~ CONGRATS on Jack!!

As for me...guess what I did today??  Did you guess swim?  You guessed right ~ can you believe it?  It's like 10 friggen degrees out (ok, I think I'm in the wrong company to be complaining about weather but still ~ the outdoor pool in 60* weather is still cold!) but I forced myself to go and you know what??  I actually enjoyed it and found myself wondering why the heck I've been so afraid of going!!

What I wouldn't give for a few days of 60*.  It's -10 on my porch this morning.  Weatherman says maybe 45 on Saturday! Course it's going to rain, so....Gotta love MI.

LOL! My sister and I used to do that back in our younger years.  I think my first bike was a green Western Flyer!  Maybe some festive streamers and a horn would dress it up.

That's very cool! You live in the right area for mtn biking.  Does your hubbie do all the maintenance on your bike?

10 degrees in Hawaii????  I think it's warmer in Illinois today!!!  Great job getting out there!

Anne- Congrats!  He is very handsome

Michelle- I agree 60* and an outdoor pool does not sound like much fun

As for me I ran last night and rode this morning and now I get to go to the hospital for some overnight fun!  I hope I can get a run in outside this weekend since it is supposed to be nice (ie warm, but I think it is going to rain)

Yes he does and it's a wonderful thing.  He has a small workshop in the back yard (about the size of a storage shed) that he has turned into a "bike shop."

SportCount is the company. I have the combo which is a lap counter and timer. You wear it on your finger and push with your thumb for each lap. Very easy. I love mine.

Yeah, Anne, I was being a smart arse!  It was high 60's/low 70's here but it feels more like 10* when you're used to 80's and sun!  Like I said, I know I'm in the wrong crowd to be crying about weather!

Lara ~ thanks for the site!

I will be doing a 5 mile run tonight and decided to post it now so that I can't wimp out and make it shorter!!

If nothing else get a good bell. It will make you all the more impressive if you can ring a bell and wave every time you pass someone in a race.

Got my swim in.  Felt great while I was doing it.  Now I'm putting my youngest down down for his nap and I think I'm going to join him. Run later.

I also got a swim in this morning and I'm done for today.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and great weather.  We're supposed to have rain, freezing rain & fog.

Morning everybody!  45 degrees and the sun is shining (for now) Taking my bike outside for a good long ride this morning.  Hope everyone else can get out and do something while the weather is half-way decent.  Spring is right around the corner, right?
