losta - 2009-06-01 4:44 PMAhoy Everybody! I got my first run in. 15 minutes of Aqua jogging after a morning swim. I'm heading out to do a little more on dry land shortly. Is that one or two sessions?
You can count it however you want. When you figured out your goal, did you plan on this being one session, or two? The choice is yours.
If you're happy, I'm happy. LOL (And if I'm not happy, I'll just taser someone. Then I'll be happy again.)

I think we can find someone to put on stand by for tasering...

Why thank you for volunteering! Just a sec, gotta hit the ON switch here...

While your at it can yuo take an assatar photo for me... apparently the girls somehow lost the swim challenge and i have no one to take a picture...

tlnewman30 - 2009-06-01 6:39 PM Come now Dee, you of all people knew that I couldn't stay away from the challenges forever.

Oh, I knew you'd be back. I just didn't know when. I was hoping it was sooner, rather than later -- because I knew you were having health issues. We've had a few people show up this month, who I haven't seen in awhile.

Its you Dee! People want to come abd play with you...

Sal showed up today. I reminded him that he owes Kendra a picture. Rather than deny it, he even remembered that it needs to include a Wendy's wig, kilt and toenail polish. I think we need to find Kendra....

Aaaw... I missed Sal

Clearly the details have been imprinted on his mind!

And..... The teams are off to a great start! Each has a NEW NAME already. Here's a Day One Update for you!

Team Taser Running (Team 1):
Chi Running is so last year. Get into the "now era" with TASER RUNNING. We supply the motivation. You supply the legs.....
In addition, this team is already pulling ahead to a strong lead in the secondary challenge. (Yes, the POST COUNT PADDING Challenge!)

Team June Bugs (Team 2):
The team got off to a rocky start when pictures of bugs were posted on the first page of their thread. They overcame that obstacle quickly though, went with the flow, and selected a June Bug as their mascot.

Team Trifecta (Team 3):
This team has more 100+ mile goals than any of the other teams. To celebrate, the entire team went out for ICE CREAM. Haagan Daz, of course.

HAPPY RUNNING!

This doesn't mean I can't run harder and fast, just that it takes more effort than it did three months ago.

I can't run hard or fast - just slow and pokey....

I guess I should set a goal. Dee, I get my schedule two weeks at a time so I'll have to guess - can I increase it later if I need to? Don't want to be a sandbagger

Increases are always allowed.

(For decreases, it depends upon the reason.)

Hi everyone!

I see that I am already many pages behind, but I fully expected that once I saw some of the names on the challenge. For anybody that does not know me, my name is Travis. I am currently a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines stationed at Buckley AFB in Aurora CO. That is about 15 minutes east of Downtown Denver. I am hoping to complete 60 miles of running during the month of June, which would normally be very low milage, but have been fighting some issues that just wont go away. Namely inflamed lungs. I look forward to competing and completing this challenge with you guys since it has been many months since I have been able to grasp the goals I have set forth.

Inflamed lungs sounds like it scores real high on the suck-o-meter...

Welcome Travis!

It does. What should normally be a simple activity takes a lot more effort to accomplish, and even more effort to recover. For example, a three mile run that I can normally run in well under 21 minutes and usually under 20 minutes even here in the mile high altitude is taking more like 30 minutes and I my lungs feel like they would at the faster time. Not to mention the deep dull pain in my chest.

That sounds not fun.  Hope things are improving for you, Travis
